Forgotten Coast Realty of NW Florida — Local services in Mexico Beach

Mostly I'm providing a google review and two stars because the company would not post my review on their website; I can only assume because I did have some negative comments regarding the rental company and rental location. My family and I stayed at 213 Seashack in St Joe Beach the last month of June this year. The rental location was adequate. Kitchen had been remodeled, the remaining portions of the rental was average. The property was clean and the deck did have a beautiful view of the sound. My negative comments regard both the rental company and property. The sliding door in the master suite to the upper deck was all but unusable. It badly needs repair. One could hardly open the door to get access to the upper deck. The second complaint regards the rental company. Within the first 2-3 days of our vacation, the rental office contacted us stating they needed access to our unit to spray for pests. Isn't this why you don't check in until approximately 3:00PM on your arrival day; so that stuff can be completed. I requested a phone call prior to the arrival of the pest control so that we were not wasting our vacation due to their poor planning. The rental company did call, stating the pest contractor was on their way. However it was still another hour prior to their arrival after the phone call. I could have allowed a complete stranger into the unit without our presence, but I didn't feel comfortable with that. All in all it was a good vacation but the rental company could do a better job of completing maintenance prior to guests' arrival. Also, I was upset they are only posting positive feedback on their websites regarding rental locations. Guests are not getting a full accurate account of the properties and any issues.

Stayed at the Jewel of Paradise 8053 Hwy 98 St Joe Beach 7-17-22 / 7-22-22 WE LOVE MEXICO BEACH!! And we will continue to visit for our family vacations. The condo we stayed in was nice and fully furnished. But... The outside lights didn't work, so we couldn't grill at night. Also when we arrive at the condo it was clean but, not as clean as you would think it would be. Shower had hair in it, sicks wasn't cleaned, empty coke cans still in windowsill. Not only that, but upstairs where you had to go to the master bedroom. The floor was wet?? We didn't think much about it. ""Because the cleaning lady just left"" But within 2 days the carpet was soaked!!! Yes!! we had to walk through that our whole stay and it became layering with towels didn't help! The celling was leaking!! From the top floor which mean in the kitchen.( On middle level ) had a puddle of water in the floor the whole stay. "" THANK GOODNESS THEY HAD A BIG BOWL"" Try calling Maintenance, no response. It's just very sad when you go on vacation expecting to stay comfortably in a condo that you're paying a mortgage payment on for one week and it turns out like this. I wasn't going to say anything, but when we checked out and told the Rental ( forgotten coast) She seemed very unbothered about the situation. So.. Me and my old friends try our hardest to have a "Guys" beach trip every year. Nothing too crazy. We have been to PCB, Pensicola, all the "Usual places" and crazy enough, there is something about out of control Undergrads cussing and fighting in the parking lot at 3 AM and finding vomit on the beach during your morning run that just doesn't quite gell with a group of professionals in their mid to late twenties. I called Forgotten Coast to try and get some information on Mexico Beach after a Co worker had suggested the area to me. Albeit, as I write this we have not had our trip.
