Worst Customer Service and Shady Practices – Avoid City Furniture at All Costs
I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience with City Furniture has been. I’ve dealt with countless furniture stores over the years, but this company has set a new low for customer service, reliability, and professionalism. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from City Furniture.
Incident #1: I bought a couch that came in three pieces—two side pieces with motors requiring power sockets and a middle piece that was supposed to connect the motors. Instead of providing the correct cable to connect the motors, City Furniture sent the wrong cable. The technician who installed the couch confirmed it was their mistake and told me to open a dispute to get the correct cable.
What followed was an exhausting two-month ordeal of being ignored, passed around, and treated like my time didn’t matter. When they finally responded, instead of just sending the correct cable, they decided to replace the entire piece—unnecessarily complicating the issue. They scheduled three deliveries, didn’t show up for any of them, and eventually, I gave up entirely.
Incident #2: Against my better judgment, I returned to City Furniture to purchase an additional piece for the couch to make it larger. I explicitly told the sales representative, Arnaldo, about my prior nightmare experience, and even he admitted that City Furniture is infamous for having “the worst customer service in the world.” He promised me that this time it would be different. He assured me that the new piece could be delivered before the 18th, which was my only condition for the purchase.
Of course, they didn’t deliver on time. I was forced to reschedule for the 24th with a delivery window of 9 AM to 1 PM. On the 24th, at 9:10 AM, I received a text saying the delivery was canceled because they were “missing a part.” I called, texted, emailed—every possible means of communication—only to be completely ignored by everyone at City Furniture.
I requested a refund, but because I paid in cash, they outright refused, claiming that refunds are not possible. Not only is this ridiculous, but it’s also borderline theft.
The Cherry on Top: Twice, I received calls from a representative named Harry from their social media department. He promised to resolve the issue if I deleted the honest review I left about my experience. Yes, City Furniture cares more about covering up their failures online than actually addressing them. When I refused to delete the review, Harry told me I’d have to “deal with it” and reiterated that I would not be getting a refund.
City Furniture is a disgraceful company that thrives on deception, disregard for customers, and empty promises. Their lack of professionalism, broken delivery commitments, and refusal to issue refunds demonstrate an organization that cannot and should not be trusted.
Do yourself a favor: shop elsewhere. Any other furniture store will treat you better than City Furniture. Spare yourself the wasted time,...

On Saturday, we went shopping at City Furniture for a new desk for me and a huge mirror for my daughter. My current desk has outgrown its use, and I need a desk with drawers.
This store is huge with lots of cool merchandise including living room, dining room and bedroom sets. They also carry outdoor furniture and accessories. In case that's not enough, they also have a huge mattress department and accessories for the home like lamps, vases, mirrors, office furniture, and artwork. They have much nicer merchandise than they used to, which is a big plus. We found what we wanted on our own, even though we were followed around on and off by a saleslady, who was running after other customers. We had to wait for her to return. There was a very nice, calm salesman by the name of Arnold, who was not busy and could've waited on us, but she came running back to us, and he had to leave. Then she left again. When we asked where the mirrors were, she said they were scattered all over the store and left. So off we went by ourselves looking for the mirrors.
The sales lady that "worked" with us seemed to be brand new and had maybe 1 day of training. We knew more than she did about her job. She had to call Blake, the nice helpful and patient manager, to answer our simple questions. He was very busy but was still very polite and professional with us as he could see the problems we were encountering with the saleslady. She was so worried about her commission that she couldn't think past that. She didn't even know how to write up our order and struggled with that. She was taking up our Saturday afternoon with her lack of knowledge and experience, and we were getting annoyed as we had a reservation to get to. We picked out my desk and the mirror within 1/2 an hour, but it took her another 1.5 hours to write it up!
We are waiting for delivery in 2 more days and pray that everything will be in excellent condition. If not, there will be an update.
This location has really improved and updated itself from the last time we dropped by there, which was 4 years ago. They have more hip furniture with great looking accessories. We stayed this time and made several purchases. Their customer service is very good. Our super sharp and hardworking sales lady was Patricia Cortez! Go...
Read moreTerrible experience purchased a bed frame, nightstand, table and chairs in August. We told our sales rep (GRETHEL) that our move in date is Oct 2nd of course she was nice and friendly and said that the items are CURRENTLY on back order but will be AVAILABLE for our desired delivery date of Oct 2nd. She called us about a WEEK after purchase and stated our furniture is “in stock” and could be delivered sooner. We reminded her that our MOVE IN DATE(!!!) is Oct 2nd and that would not work for us, she said not a problem she will have it all delivered on Oct 2nd. Fast forward to today (SEPT 11) I went to Ashley Furniture to inquire about a couch and wanting to add it onto my ALREADY scheduled OCT 2nd delivery date. The new sales rep told me their was no OCT 2nd delivery date and that all the furniture wouldn’t be delivered until NOV. As obvious upset customer services we went to the original store where we purchased from (GRETHEL WAS NOT IN) and spoke to the manager on duty JAMIE BOWEN. He was COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ANTAGONISTIC. He told me there was never any delivery date written as if that was MY fault. I came in and told the sales person my request and she said that she could honor it. He then proceeded to tell me that I was “lying” about her calling me a week after the purchase. When she wasn’t even there to say what happened. Not ONCE did he say “I APOLOGIZE” not once did he show any empathy, and not ONCE did he say “let’s credit your account and I’ll have someone show you some furniture that is available for your delivery date”. He proceeded to go back and forth with me and argue with me as if I was wrong. He had a “I don’t know what you want me to tell you???” response. VERY VERY...
