This camp is dilapidated… we stayed in Mountain Man village and paid $360 to stay two nights. They have tents with cots.. the cots are rusted and the tents are full of holes. My son and I woke up to everything we brought being soaked and my son was shivering. We ran to the shelter to dry ourselves and our things at 5 in the morning. I saw water damage at the castle and was told that it’s been like that since 2015! The stairs to go to the pool are falling apart and dry rotted. The Trading Post I was excited to shop at because they were supposed to have a shirt for the year, only had old merch. It really seems like they haven’t put any money in to the upkeep of this place. The pond is completely choked with algae and smells awful. I was so upset that my son fundraised and was so excited to come to this camp and this is how it turned out. Until they renovate I would not recommend anyone come here. It’s a shame because the staff is so fun and friendly, you really can feel that there is a great spirit to this place but at some point you have to maintain something like this to...
Read moreI first would like to say that the scouts running the camp did an amazing job. They were enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgeable. I was disappointed with the amount of down time the scouts had. The first two hours of the arrival day had nothing planned if you didn't do the swim test. We unfortunately had lots of rainy weather that interfered with scheduled activities but there did not seem to be back ups planned in the case of rain (our pool time was cancelled the first day and our creeking time got cut short the next day). I would have liked to had more opportunities for my scout to earn badges and learn skills. Overall I am disappointed to have spent $350 for my scout and I to not earn badges, sleep in mildewy bunks and spend most of our time trying to find things on our own to...
Read moreI took my Cub Pack this Father's Day weekend, and like always it was excellent. This has been my 5th time going for Resident Camp and each time Cub World is always the same. It is a basic camp but set up with four different styles of sleeping arrangements - Fort, Castle, Mountain Man and Miner's Camp. The first two are basic structures with the bunkrooms circling a courtyard with bathroom, and an upstairs area to do activities and let the kids run around. The other areas, I have never slept at so I have no information. The other facilities - bath house, dinning shelter and grounds are all very nice. I have seen worse at other camps so this is one of the...
