Dollar General — Local services in Miami Township

If you are reading this review it is likely you aren't local. Welcome to this humble midwestern college hamlet, a besieged oasis of weirdness that exists out of place. In much the same way, this Dollar General's golden florescent aura stands alone as the one and only place to buy batteries, tampons, retro video game emulators, garden hose coupling adapters, ibuprofen, other stuff, etc. within several miles in any direction. As such, the locals have largely abandoned any Ill will normally directed at similar manifestations of capitalism's futility, choosing instead to bask in the glory of a shopping experience taking place in a building smaller than an aircraft hanger or indeed any shopping at all if it is past like 7 or 8 pm. For a bonus wholesome surprise I recommend listening carefully while checking out. You can sometimes hear the eerie sounds of a manager singing along quietly to whatever 70's rock anthem is on the radio in a way that makes you wonder if you are not in fact interacting with the very same person that must have recorded those vocal tracks...

stopped to pick up some glass cleaner, none to be found in the store. boxes upon boxes of unopened merchandise just stacked in all the isles. grabbed a drink from the cooler since i couldnt find what i was looking for. an older lady checked me out and had the worst customer service. i had an issue with the card reader and she made a sideways comment about how i didnt know how to use the reader. mind you, i had an issue with my chip reading. finally i use a different card to pay, grab my things and she tried to stop me as im walking out of the door. my things were paid for, i just was tired of dealing with her condescending tone. you work in customer service, you shouldnt talk to customers that way especially when they are spending money in your establishment. every time i come to this store its a mess, nothing is ever stocked on shelves. ill never come back to this store again. i hope the lady working, has a better day and learns how to...

Bad experience with Brittany. She checked me out right at closing, something didn’t ring up 50% off and I let her know which she replied by screaming “I KNOW”! She proceeded to belittle, harass and mess up my entire order. I explained something wasn’t right based on my total and she said I had to pay for it before she could look at the transaction on the receipt. So I paid and pointed out what was wrong she said I needed to come back the next day to get it fixed! I still can’t believe she actually has a job!
