I don’t leave reviews often, but I am beyond disappointed with how BC Gymnastics runs their sessions and figure someone might benefit from reading about my experience. We first tried BC towards the end of their Spring ā€˜24 season. My child joined their intermediate tumbling class, which has some tumbling requirements I made sure my child was able to successfully complete (this is important later). I was impressed with the first class. It was well organized and efficient. After that initial class, it went downhill quickly. Subsequent classes were basically babysitting with mats; a workout class for kids at the very most. I come from a dance/cheer background so I’m aware that conditioning is part of the learning process, but it’s not the only important part. The classes were 60 minutes long. A large portion of that is warming up in the beginning, some portion is obviously explaining the ā€œstationsā€ and then more than TEN MINUTES at the end of the classes they would play red light/green light. This left very little time for actual hands on learning of skills. I had emailed them about my experience and disappointment after the Spring session and was assured that every class should have been as well organized as the first class I saw. They offered me a small discount to return for the Summer session to give them another try. I agreed, and let me tell you, it didn’t get any better. After a few classes and my daughter learning absolutely nothing, practicing/working on ZERO new skills, I inquired when they planned to start doing that. The instructor explained that my child was a little more advanced than the other kids in the class so they hadn’t been able to work on new things. This was frustrating because I made sure my child had the requirements for the class. Other parents should do the same, but more so , the gym should make sure the kids in the class also have the prerequisites to be in that level. Otherwise, it’s a waste of time for everyone. She then told me that they would start learning and working on new skills in the upcoming weeks. We did miss a couple weeks due to summer vacations, but upon our return, it wasn’t much better. We even attended a make up class on another night and hardly any tumbling was done. They had them doing biceps curls and box pushes (like a sled push). Today was the final straw. If I can share the photos and videos on here of the instructors standing around talking to each other with their hands in their pockets, talking to other people while they should be teaching their class, or laying FACE DOWN on the mats DURING the class, I will. There’s no hands on instruction. There’s no spotting new skills. Your child will not learn anything new. You will 100% waste your money. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other gyms in the area. We will be going back to Rebounders in Timonium (where we would have stayed if they had had an opening on a day/time that worked for our child’s schedule). There’s also other gyms like Vipers and MD Twisters that I’m positive you’d have a better experience at.

Great Facility, clean and welcoming. We are in the 2yr class and the coaches are phenomenal and very kind and friendly and especially helpful with the little toddlers. We will continue our third session this fall 2025. My granddaughter loves coming and really enjoys herself!

The instructors are inexperienced.I watch the majority of the children play around during class & the instructors gossiping with eachother at the same time.Where's the discipline in any of that?! When I ask to talk to the instructor after class to address the issue, I'm given the head shake no & the pointer finger going back & forth portraying the word NO. For years I have had the same questions and concerns. I am told to "leave your name & number at the front desk & some one will call you back".Guess what,no one ever called me back & nothing was ever addressed.I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life.I asked permission from an instructor to take my son's picture with his medal while I stood in the doorway(not in the gym)& she said "sure you can". Well I got scolded for that by the coach of the competition team, which by the way is a waste of money & a joke. They just want your money, but it was very embarrassing how I was spoken to. One of the mother's heard how I was treated & over heard what my concerns have been for years now and she waived over the director. I waived back saying no I dont need you at the moment.10 min later, the director Amy came storming out of the double entrance doors & approached me about "my problem better be good since you are disrupting my class".Please keep in mind she had an entire room full of an audience. She tried to put me in my place. She screamed almost the entire time while her audience watched.I told her I didn't need her right than but I do need to discuss something with her. She continued to over power & speak over me.She repeated "leave a message at the desk &i will call you back" my response didn't change "I've done this for years and I have yet to get a call back so I doubt I'll get a call back this time too "she was getting louder & louder by the 2nd as her fingers &hands were waiving around in my face. She just wouldn't stop! She turned her back to me and kept screaming at me & screamingI finally lost my temper & told her to "screw her school & I will get reimbursed. " I went to the front desk crying. The woman at the front desk, which is Amys best friend , asked me to wait to get reimbursed. To wait & see what happens after Amy calls me back because she knows how her friend is, how she overreacts, & that she can have a nasty attitude.Well Amy called me back &it only got worse.Barely got a word in.Told her my daughter had been complaining that she isn't learning a thing because the teachers joke around with eachother too much & she didnt want to go back until we spoke to her teachers.Coming from a 6 year old, that's a problem!I tried explaining my concerns with her & she told me she was "withdrawing my children from her school &I was not aloud on the premises again" "I don't like their curriculum, I don't like the instructors, I don't like the school"I have been going there since my daughter was 1 so 5 years is the first time I meet the owner & she treats me like this! She accused me of saying "I was going to punch her in the face " NEVER CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH. Also, that I was not aloud to pick up my money. That she would mail it..yeah, no!I picked it up alright while she hid but had no issues showing off with an a audience or on the phone. The check was short too!I don't want to go on & on quoting this lovely professional woman. You can watch the video for yourself. Also, there were 2/3 year olds in class with 4, 5, and 6 yr olds. How was that fair?!No wonder why most of the girls weren't learning a thing. She denied that, but pictures do not lie!Made up some excuse of how the parents didn't tell the truth on the registration forms.Shows how observant they are of their students.Well, the jokes on Amy.While I was taking pictures of my children together with their awards, I accidentally hit the record button. I Recorded her entire unprofessional rant! I am going to post for everyone to see the truth! She should be ashamed of herself the way she spoke around students and parents.i highly suggest picking a different school & I can recommend some. Btw, they gave me...

If your not ready to pay the money to put your child on their competition team, your child will not learn a thing. Instructors can't even demonstrate what they are trying to reach or they just won't. Don't ask any questions because you will be humiliated, thrown out of the program and building (my children too 6 and 4), talked to like trash and degraded infront of an entire room full of parents, my children, and other children, accused of threatening the unprofessional director who I finally saw for the first time in over 5 years (lies, luckily my phone was on record because I had not turned it off from when my kids were getting a cheap medal because it was the end of the session. Should I say more. I had to go back with an officer just to be reimbursed for the next session. I asked 6/7 sessions in a row to speak with someone about evaluations and no one cared to call. Simple question: why does my daughter's evaluation one session say she can do a hand stand and the very next session it says she was no where close. Next session after she would get checked off on things and than right after that, she couldn't do it all again. After taking my money for a little over 5 years and than I added another child to the program at way over $100 a child each session(I think it's atleast 4 sessions per year), I think I could of been treated with a little more respect. Everyone who knew the director from where they moved from were not surprised how she treated me. Their exact words were "nasty" and they were "glad she relocated" . Did I take up for myself and yell back after she humiliated me, yes I did. But to kick 2 very young children out and tell them and me not to ever come back, is wrong. I finally did get my phone call 25 minutes later to even more of a mouth than in public. So like I said, I drove right back while I was still being screamed at on the phone and what a surprise, the big mouth director left that quick..not possible. She was still yelling at me on the phone when I pulled up. What a great experience..lol. Harford is so much better. The kids actually learn and don't just stand around. Also have instructors that are capable to demonstrate a basic roll or will...
