I love the old school vibe to the theater! The employees were super nice and personable as well! Unfortunately, the theater was freezing cold! I'm use to a cold movie theater, but this brought cold to a new level! It was like watching a movie outside. Mind you, it hadn't reached 40° outside. I had on a thermal hat and long sleeve thermal shirt (on top of another shirt) and had to keep both on, along with my coat! And the ceiling fans were on...I take it to circulate the "heat" since it rises (allegedly, it was burning hot upstairs?). Furthermore, the seating was horrendous! The chairs were low to the ground, squeaky and reclined so far back you were scared that you were going to fall backwards. It made for an uncomfortable movie watching experience. I pray the theater gets funds for renovations because it's a real gem! It's more intimate than your modern day chain theaters. If you decide to go (during the winter), I suggest finding out if the movie you want to see is upstairs or downstairs and then, dress...
Read moreThe staff were like disinterested zombies. It was like you were disturbing them by coming in. Maybe I'm just not used to small towns, but they tried to make up for the lack of more (and bigger) screens by over-decorating. They have a refrigerator and serve pretzels bought from Wal-Mart (rubbery - the frozen kind you just heat up) on a throwaway plate. The seats were nasty and deeply stained, the screens small, the local commercials extremely corny and the worst part was they cut the movie just before the credits started rolling!!! That pissed me off because I like to sit through the credits in case there's something at the end. I paid to see the ENTIRE movie. The outside surroundings looks like something out of an old western film which gives me the creeps. I will not be back. Two good things about this place: (1) best popcorn I have ever had and (2) reasonable...
Read moreMy grandma and I wanted to come watch the Barbie movie, but when I looked it said the movie was upstairs. My grandma is on oxygen and stairs are extremely hard for her I texted the lady and asked if she could move it downstairs, but unfortunately I asked a little too late. She offered to move it downstairs Sunday or Monday but I was not going to be up here. She then texted me later and told me that she would play the movie downstairs for my grandma and I. These people are so sweet and they have some of the biggest hearts. They are always there to make your movie experience great. Thank you ritz theater, for...
