I fell in Milan and hurt myself pretty bad. The ambulance came to pick me up and I had the option to go to Milan ER. I had never been here and it was the closest. I am SO thankful I chose to go here!
First, the EMTs Matt (and did not get the other EMTs name) were thorough and very kind. When they brought me to the ER I was unsure what I would face... but the nurse, Regina was so very sweet and she made me laugh a few times... even though I was sitting there with a dislocated and fractured arm/wrist. Next, there was no doctor and at first that scared me... until I met Nurse Practitioner Cari who was on duty. She was AMAZING!!! I wish she WAS a doctor... she actually helped me more than other ER doctors I had in past. Then the xray tech Naveena... she was SO awesome!! They all helped me to calm down and understand my injuries... I have never broke a limb in my life.... so this was horrifying to me.
In all... I have to say that I recommend the Milan hospital for small trauma issues. I truly wish they had an orthopedic doctor and other specialty doctors on call here because I would rather go here than Kirksville for my health and wellness needs!!

   Read moreI've never had anything but good come from any time I have been a patient at SCMH! I bring my family and encourage my friends to all go there also. It may be a very small hospital with limited capabilities, but they are strong nurses and providers and can stabilize most anything in order to get someone critical to a larger facility where they can receive all of the services...
