I went here 3 weeks ago when I took a trip to Minot. I live in Bismarck. I used to live in Minot. I used to go to this shop a lot. Tom used to be decent. I went up to the door and heard rustling around and asked if the place was open and I was told and I quote "Get out of here @$$hole". I will never go back again. I will never recommend anyone take their stuff there again to sell.
It used to be convenient because there are not many places in ND to sell silver coins or anything like that and waiting for people to buy your stuff on eBay for a fee sucks when you need some money.
Now I'd rather starve than deal with Tom again. Don't go there. And yes the other review are correct. He wants an arm and a leg for his stuff. Example being he has bunch of 1990 Fleer football card wax boxes. He claimes he paid $35/box and wants $50 each. You can find them fo $10 each on eBay and that's with shipping. Tom is a terrible person and a bad...
Read moreAs a lot of people here have mentioned, Tom may or may not be nice to you, may or may not allow you to look around, may or may not allow you to purchase something, may or may not kick you out, may or may not make a rude remark, may or may not allow you to actually talk to him about all of his wonderful items, experiences, and collecting tales. If you are wise enough to know when you should leave and come back a few days later, you likely will eventually be offered a Dr. Pepper and a chair outside to start your negotiations on purchases. Have patience, this is a good man with many flaws, just like almost every person on the planet. Remember, he owns the items and has the right to sell them for whatever he wants. May I suggest the first few visits you simply drop a list of items that you are looking for and come back a few days later, his preferred method of operation. I like Tom, his store, and being around him...
Read moreOMG, read prior review but was not prepared for the level of disrespect this proprietor treats his customers with. Answered the phone with "hello", then awkward silence. I said told him I was interested in a coin I had seen on his website. More awkward silence. I told him I tried to buy it through his website but it didn't work. He then yells at me - It says right on the front of the internet that we don't take credit cards (even though the site has a cart and takes credit card info). So then I asked if there was any way I could buy it without the internet, e.g. over the phone and he said "no, you have to come in." This is a personal collection, or a money laundering scheme.
