My 2nd visit here: All Pro. 1 Con. āŖļø Front Desk = First visit was great! This time was a bit frustrating (took a while to be seen/acknowledged despite being only one in line). [PRO] This later felt like a minor thing when OVERALL this was honestly THE BEST MRI experience I've had!! āŖļø Intake = Even though Im in healthcare, I am very nervous towards procedures, needles, enclosed spaces, etc. (Cathy picked up on it). I suddenly remembered "I'm claustrophobic!" š³ When I told Cathy she slowly described the room & dimensions of the MRI machine so I could envision the opening āŖļø Set-Up = I'd gotten nervous watching her open some materials due to needles, so she & Dr. Golshani offered to reopen the setup out of my sight, but sill explaining the process. I especially appreciate when staff discuss specifics as if I'm not in healthcare - because sometimes 'what we know' can make your own anxieties worse. āŖļø Injection = I am very tense and vocal with "ok, ok, ok... to stay calm & still when having injections, so she offered to stand closely while I used this fantastic stress ball they offered. She showed me the box so I could take photos and buy them for myself/refer to my patients. Dr. Golshani placed a weight on my arm - he noticed I had difficulty holding still and in-position due to pain. Like a weight-blanket, this helped greatly. They moved slow and patiently, engaged in casual conversation with me. MRI = Allison saw my reaction to the machine. She was also mindful to explain step by step. Working together, she and Cathy reminded me "you've already gone through the injection, you don't want to waste all your efforts today. Would it help if I stay with you?" Allison offered first to show me how far into the MRI I would be. Then she explained that if I position my head 'just right' I could actually see over my shoulder and out the other side of the MRI! This helped me to see that "freedom" wasn't far away LOL (without being poorly positioned for optimal MRI test) - this was a life changer! The WHOLE time, I could see out AND I could feel Cathy place just the right amount of pressure to my legs to keep them from nervously shaking. She'd alternate pressure (like a human weighted-blanketā¤ļø and rubbing my legs to offer calm support. Even with the headphones & light music, I could hear her being supportive. Allison made sure to tell me exactly how long each portion of the test would be - " this will take 90secs... this will be 2.5 mins... etc".
The same day, I told so many other friends & family who have "enclosed space"...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis establishment does not care about the health of their patients and is willing to put patients in harms way instead of doing a test ordered by a medical doctor. How they have such good ratings is BEYOND me!
I am 18 weeks pregnant and have a breast lump. I had a mammogram and ultrasound on it 11 months ago which was fine. The lump went away and returned during pregnancy. Because I am pregnant, my DOCTOR recommended an ultrasound to check on it and make sure it was still ok. Because I am pregnant my doctor did not want the radiation from a mammogram, simply wanted the ultrasound to hopefully give us some peace of mind that the lump is still OK. My doctor did not order a mammogram, only an ultrasound. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago to have the ultrasound done and I was scheduled. 45 minutes before my appointment Prime Medical Imaging called me to tell me it is against their protocols to do an ultrasound without a mammogram with it. Even though I am pregnant and am refusing a mammogram at this time, they refused me of an ultrasound that I waited two whole weeks for, that my doctor ordered. They told me there was nothing they could do and they refused to give me my ultrasound.
So now I have to wait even longer to have this test done at another facility, because as someone who is medically trained, I know that an ultrasound is the best test for my lump and that radiation is not necessary. They better hope I do not get diagnosed with breast cancer and my treatment is being delayed because of a āprotocolā that makes absolutely no sense and me being denied a test ordered by my very own OB/GYN.
I am usually not one to complain as I know how it is to work in medicine. However, this business is putting my health at risk for no legitimate reason by delaying me of my testing. Do not even waste your time with this place because it could lead you to delayed treatment for a serious illness. They simply...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve gone to Prime twice, and overall am not impressed. My second visit was awful; I will only use them again in an extreme case. I made an appointment for an MRI, and during the call I was asked if I have any implants. When I said yes, they asked if I had a card with the serial number, I said no. Then, on the day of the appointment, about 2 hours before my scheduled time, someone from the office called to ask about the card to which I said I do not have. In a tone as if I am at fault, I was told that my appointment may have to be canceled. When I asked why I was being called mere hours before my appointment rather than the 3 previous weeks available, they could not answer. The appointment ended up being canceled and rescheduled. No apologies were given for their oversight, which is extremely frustrating given that I had to fast as well as make arrangements with my employer. I had to call before my rescheduled appointment to verify they had the information they needed, no one was planning to call me about it and I also never received a reminder call or email about my upcoming appointment. After the scan was over (Tuesday afternoon), I started to check my portal that Friday for resultsānothing. Same thing all weekend. I called on Monday when it still was not there to find out it hadnāt been read yetāvery different from the ā24-48 hours after the appointmentā they told me. The facility is clean and the techs are nice, but their service overall has much room for...
