Saturday, 7/27/19 I purchased a sirloin steak from Gunderson’s at the farmer’s market at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire. Even though the steak was frozen, I was assured that the steak was just “folded over.” The steak was 1.63 lbs, and I paid $19 (and some change) for it. After I got home, I noticed that it was dated October of 2018, and looked slightly freezer-burned. After thawing and unfolding it, I found a huge bone in it. The bone weighed almost 4.7 oz. and the inedible pieces of fat weighed another 2 oz. Together, almost 7 oz. of the 1.63 had to be thrown away. It did not even appear to be a sirloin steak, and it certainly didn’t taste like one. If I could post pictures here, I would.    Read moreGreat butcher! We've had a couple cows and a pig processed here and they do a great job with the cuts and packaging. Their breakfast links are the best, hamburger nice and lean, and listen to what you want. I asked for 1 1/2" thick steaks and thats what I got! They are the best!!
The only thing I guess I would like to see is a little more detail on the different cuts they can do. For a budding griller/smoker, I dont know all of the different cuts and it would help to be educated a bit when putting in the...
