The food was AMAZING! I ordered the Asada quesadilla and it was cooked to perfection and very filling. The owner, David, greeted us and was extremely kind! Very clean place and everyone was hospitable and I will definitely be back!
review update 3/10/18 I went back this week and ordered the wet burrito. WOW this a big burrito! None of the meals here use ground beef! You will get asada(steak) meat in these amazing dishes! The wet burrito was made to perfection with so much filling, meat and sauces. I was only able to eat half and was told this wasn't the largest burrito on the menu! I washed it down with a bottle of Coke made with real sugar and was a happy camper for the rest of my work shift! You have to try this place out, food is amazing! My buddy got the asada nachos and those are amazing since they use asad and the thicker toastada chips!
review update 4/5/18 Stopped by for lunch and had the Asada Fries! Wow this is a large meal. You have crispy crinkle cut fries smothered in cilantro, onions, asada. I could taste a hint of lime juice and that made the dish even better! I could not finish it and saved some for afternoon snack. My co worker had the beef fajitas and his plate looked incredible! On the way out i picked up a bag of fresh tortilla chips and was eyeballin' the Jumbo Avacados. This store is amazing!!!
review update 5/11/18 ordered the wet burrito for lunch and it's just as good as the first time i got one! Food is always great, fresh, and consistent!
review update 3/16/21 went in last Saturday to get a Burrito and was told the kitchen is closed on the weekends as they serve carnitas and barbacoa on Saturdays. I picked up half a pound of barbacoa and a stack of fresh corn tortillas. Got home and devoured the barbacoa on the corn tortillas. The half pound was right around $4 and very reasonable. I recommend trying this if you are in the area...
Read moreIf you are looking for some of the best authentic Mexican food in the area, this is it…! The dining area for the restaurant is a simple room just off of a fabulous store.
The restaurant was clean upon arrival and the tables were not crowded together. There are only a handful of tables and there is plenty of room to sit and relax.
The service was excellent…!
Beverages available for purchase include drinks that are imported from Mexico. The beverages are reasonably priced and you can select any available beverages that are in the coolers in red restaurant or any of the coolers that are in the store where they have different selections available.
The food was amazing…! It was served piping hot.
I ordered three sopes which were cooked to perfection. The sopes at this restaurant are usually served with cheddar cheese. I would recommend asking for the queso fresco on it, the typical way it’s served.
My wife ordered three tacos and loved that they were served with double corn tortillas. The flavor of the tacos was amazing as she did allow me to have a small sampling.
My daughter ordered a quesadilla with carne asada. She loved the flavor of the quesadilla…!
The restaurant does not serve chips and salsa as most other restaurants do. Do not let this be a turn off for you and the food will more than cover the appetite.
There were two different salsa’s served to us. The mild salsa had a slight zing to it. The hot salsa had more of zap to it. Both had an amazing flavor…!
The menu is more simplified and is much smaller than most restaurants. However, you will find that this restaurant really is...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Not sure why the State Health Department stopped them from operating. They have a sign in Spanish that says only people eating at the restaurant could use the restroom. I took my daughter and noticed full roles of toilet paper on the floor, the trash can to the point where trash was coming out.
My husband went to take my daughter to the restroom because she had to go again. My husband was told by the wife’s owner that he couldn’t take my daughter to the bathroom. His excuse, because there are so many drug addicts in Monett.
Food was awful, greasy, and expensive. The nastiest people, place, and experience. Had I known I was going to stop at a place that served slop we wouldn’t have stopped. We were just passing through. This food is not an authentic Mexican restaurant. The Asada was very hard or it had...
