Saisho Hibachi + Sushi — Restaurant in Monett

I have seen this food truck several times and decided to try it out. I like the food truck gimmick as it is appears to be the thing to do these days. The food truck was very clean with bright red paint and the menu was in plain sight and very easy to read. There is no designated parking area so you basically pull up wherever you find an open spot. I ordered the Sukiyaki Steak which came with fried rice and vegetables. I chose to have my steak cooked medium well and that was cooked to perfection. The proportion of meat to rice was way off and you barely get any meat.

I used my card to pay and was told a .50 cent charge would be applied for orders less than $15. I noticed they are using the Square system to process card payments and happen to know Square charges under 3% per card transaction. I don't think it is a good idea to add this additional fee to the customer. The menu items are expensive as it is and to punish the customer for using a card is quite silly. At the end of the day, I hope these they do well, but pricing is a little to rich...

I made a order here at 11:00 am they told me 10 minutes it would be ready they opened there window around 11:15 am I went to the window paid for my food and they gave me a beeper when it would be ready I then sat until 11:38 am before receiving my food. Don’t tell customers it will be ready in 10 minutes if that isn’t the truth because of the long wait my boyfriend wasn’t able to eat lunch. I have never had issues with this place so as to why it took almost 40 minutes to receive the food is beyond me. We ordered chicken and steak with fried rice, veggies and dumplings. I was impressed that they had us wait in our car with a buzzer for the food which is pretty unique for a food truck. We received a HUGE portion of rice.. 1 and 1/2 take out containers full. Would have liked a little more meat and veggies. Everything but the dumplings was hot and fresh.
