My daughter came home from her Dad's house and her hair was a complete mess. She ended up with a huge knotty disaster and when her father tried to brush it out he realized that it was going to take quite a while he decided to grab scissors and start to randomly cut into her hair. When she did get home and I saw how bad these knots were I told him that I was going to take her to get her hair cut the way she had been asking for the past year........I still had no idea that he had chopped up her hair. So when I told him that I was taking her he freaked out and said her hair wasn't to be cut at all. When I started to brush her hair and I found out that he had already started chopping/hacking at her hair to the point that it HAD to be cut because my daughter is mixed and she has extremely thick and curly hair and he had cut her hair at the top of her head where she only had about 2-3 inches left. So if I left it like that there would be NO WAY to hide it at all. So I took her to Last Tangle to have it fixed. The girls were all very nice but the girl that did my daughters hair was VERY HEAVY-HANDED and I thank God that my baby has some tough skin and she didn't cry once. The one negative comment I have about Last Tangle is that no one (that was there while I was) seemed to have any training on African-American hair and in my own personal opinion every cosmetologist should be able to work on African-American hair with as much skill and equally as well as non African-American hair. I was a cosmetology student and I know that the schools don't do any training on African-American hair. So you should pray to God that there's at least a few African-Americans in your class so that you have at least a little bit of practice. My daughter and I loved her hair cut but I did notice that she had some uneven spots. The only reason that they got 3 stars from me is because they all should have training on African-American hair and I would say the same thing about any...
Read moreWow! Just Wow! Let me first say that I NEVER write reviews. I don't even leave stars on reviews. But I felt compelled to leave a review for The Last Tangle salon. I was left in a bit of a pickle when my normal hair dresser canceled on me last minute for things that were out of her control. I had remembered I took my daughter there for a haircut before and had a great experience so I reached out to them first to see if by some miracle they could squeeze my daughter in for a cut and color. Mind you it's the weekend before school starts and it's labor day weekend. I called and at first they said there was no appointments and then I think she heard the desperation in my voice and asked me to hold. She came back on the phone and told me to bring my daughter at 2:30!!!!! I was ecstatic! We weren't sure if the hair dresser would have time to do full or partial highlights. Now on to the hair dresser. Katie! Katie is amazing!!! So kind and squeezed in my daughter last minute. She made sure that she was happy with everything she was doing every. Single. Step. Of the way! Asking if anything was hurting her, too hot, if she liked it, told her to really be honest....I mean everything a mom could ask for. It was my daughter's first time getting her hair professionally done. Incredible. Just incredible. We were all almost in years and the best part was seeing my daughter's face light up seeing the final product She LOVES it!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone at the salon! And thank you Katie for making my child's first highlighting experience one she'll...
Read moreWent to this salon for years and my daughters did as well. Always loved the way Kelsey did our hair but unfortunately she had an emergency in the middle of my hair cut. Katie stepped in to finish the cut. Well, she chopped away at my hair so fast that by the time I got a look at what she was doing it was to late. My 10 year old daughter could of done a better job. I cried the whole day. I called and all i got was a very sarcastic sorry. If she didnt or couldnt do it i would of waited. Don't say you can do something if you can't or don't want to. I had to walk around with this uneven horrible haircut for 3 days before Kelsy could fix it. Kelsey did her best to fix this horrible mistake but I ended up with a haircut so short it took me over a year to get it the length I wanted from the beginning. Also, this wasnt a hard cut. My daughter went in to get styled for homecoming and she had an apt with Katie, she showed her a picture of what she wanted and katie told her ok...again if you don't know what you are doing i would rather you say so and not do it. After about an hour and her starting over at one point it looked like a complete mess. But at that point she would of been late so we had to leave. Still got charged full price though. And never got a refund for the hair chopping she did on me. I don't know how this lady has a job or a license someone should send her back to...
