I bought a pack I really wanted and didn’t realize it was small frame, I needed large. Took it back next day tags still on never even unzipped. They didn’t have the large for an exchange so I asked for refund... no dice. I didnt talk back or complain after they assured me of their less than savory business policy... I just tried to make the best of it. I searched the store for an hour for some consolation on my $160. Found a jacket that also wasn’t my size. Asked them if they could order my size and they said, without checking the system, that it was last seasons and they could not order it. Didn’t even offer to check the current season.
I understand they probably have to run a tight ship to stay afloat, but the only thing that incentivizes me to shop local is customer service, and they don’t practice it.

Read moreThis has a very old country store feel to it. Love the front porch that they have some products set up to sit in and try out. The parking lot is pretty large and I think it is very nice that they have designated some spaces specifically for the use of the people using the Mountain Goat Trail. The store has a very large selection of outdoor gear. We found a large selection of many name brand jackets and coats and the ones we checked had a competitive price with the manufacturers websites so we made sure to purchase from them. They have some sale racks downstairs but had a sale on everything that was placed upstairs so make sure to check up there, especially if you need a medium jacket or coat, seemed to be a lot in that size up there. They have a great selection of all different brands and all different kinds of outdoor gear, from clothing and hiking gear, to kayaks and climbing gear, Mountain Outfitters is a great one stop shop. They have a ton of great gear that goes for 50% off at the end of each season, definitely worth driving to for one of the sales.
