Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Montezuma

The meat is ok , some priced very well others outrageous. Purchased what was worded as chicken breasts and when getting ready to cook them found these to be nothing more than tiny tenderloins. Meat isnt always cut very well. Prices in the store exceed other stores and are very high for the cheaper brands. Produce is weak many selections but not of good quality. Overall store is cluttered with too much stuff so maneuverability in store is limited. Store is slightly dark not bright nor very clean and cashiers are not friendly at all. They stand at registers waiting for day to end with disgusted looks upon faces. They do not clean registers nor belts for groceries. One cashier stood on her phone for quite a while and another cashier was uninterested in making small talk with her customer who was trying to engage her. In a nutshell if you want an in and out without the friendliness of the small town feel, then by all means shop here. The stock clerks are friendlier than the actual cashiers who see you first and last in the store. I would rate it a zero if I would lets start with they had rotton chicken gizzards and livers on display and wheb i let the meat employee know they still left them out said they were short and hadnt gotten to removing them if you shop there look at the meat carefully it may be bad. then they have a very rude manager Shannon who should be fired she is rude to her customers when they have a problem with the pricing of an item . I have shopped at this store for years and have never had this kind of treatment.nor have i seen such a disreguard for food safety.they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with employee's if this is the way the "manager" treats the customers and how they Handel...

Store is generally clean. Did notice most of the produce for sale is questionable with visible rotting in most bagged vegetables and fruit. Fruit flies were present during my visit. Staff upfront do little beyond watching you go isle to isle. Idk if theft is a problem, but they watch you as if it is. When you cash out ,you not only pay for your groceries but I guess are expected to bag them yourself? Prices are typically 30% higher than Walmart or Kroger equivalent. Probably will drive the extra ten minutes to Krogers next...
