My impression of Aquarius has always been that they are competent, but expensive. Recently that opinion changed in drastic fashion as I was having pool problems and had them come out to determine what was going on, why I experienced a serious leak with my pool upon opening when at the time there were no visible tears in my liner.
When they finally came out, the pool had been empty for a few weeks and the liner began hanging. So you could see a good amount of the walls and the floor because there was no water to support it, hence why the liner became like swiss cheese with many major tears.
Their guys came out and took pictures, pressure tested things, were adamant that I needed a new liner. Couldn't argue with that at that point. Still didn't understand what caused the leak but they came out for measurements for a liner and on these two or three occasions would pull away sections of the liner and take pictures. Kept saying I needed a liner. Tons of these guys. Pool service manager too. So if you looked with your own eyes, even not knowing anything about pools, my pool definitely needed some of the metal panels behind the liner replaced and probably some cement work.
They are adamant that I need the liner, cap the drain, a few other things and for $7000 I should be good.
Day of the install comes up and all of a sudden there's like 50 of these guys walking back and forth, chattering into their phones, taking pictures, and now, after a $3300 deposit towards a new liner, it's like they were never here and never looked at anything because even though the panels were clearly rusted and readily apparent from day one, all of a sudden the manager calls me to tell me the work can't be done because of the wall panels.
I'm thinking to myself, shouldn't these guys have known that from day one? I'm no expert and I could have told you that was an issue. Then another guy comes, gestures around and so on, and now they say I need a new pool. Okay, so AFTER bringing them in to diagnose the situation and see what I needed, they determined it was a liner, had me spend thousands of dollars, and now because they have no precision and didn't carefully evaluate the situation and weren't intelligent in their work and only care about getting a contract going, I have to listen to the owner complain that he's also losing money on this deal.
So now I have a pool I may have to close permanently and these idiots came in and fleeced me for $3300 for a liner I can't even use. They made things so much worse! Most of their time here was spent standing in my driveway and that earns them $3000?
They claim that they can't see behind the liner. Well, maybe to some extent but not much held up the liner. It was already mostly down and torn and it didn't require any effort to pull the little bit down that hung from the wall. I never got in their way once. But yeah, the 25% or so of the liner that remained in place concealed everything! How is a professional pool company supposed to get things right under these conditions?
Bottom line: these guys aren't very good at what they do and if the pool was done, they should have known. There was barely a liner left to hide anything. I think they are crooks and idiots. Do NOT hire them. They are so money hungry and conscience free that it is not going to end well for you. That they will gladly take your money and give you nothing in return. Aquarius is a scummy company and I should be given a refund for their incompetence.
They should pay for their poor ability to diagnose and troubleshoot pools when pools are their business. Not suck thousands out of your pocket and then be all like OOPs sorry about that equipment we ordered for you not being usable in your situation. Guess you're just screwed out of your money, pool owner.
They don't care, they were ready to move right along and see if I wanted a fiberglass pool through them, after they had just cost me $3000+ for...
Read moreWe are still waiting for our pool to be completed (it is July 12th) after signing a contract on April 12th. Work was supposed to start last week May/1st week June. Aquarius started June 9th. They said 2-3 days. We are almost 5 weeks later. Horrible communication, every little thing that could go wrong has been wrong. They never ordered our stairs, claimed the stairs that appeared after no stairs were delivered were the best we could get. Meanwhile, they had price from their showroom. They were NOT the stairs we picked and they were not anywhere near the quality we wanted. The light for night swimming was wrong and didn't fit, set us back another week. Then when the light came in they didn't have our liner. Three weeks after they start our pool they had to order a liner. When we finally get to the point of almost finished, the stairs don't fit. No surprise there...they weren't what we ordered. So now we are waiting for their solution to this problem which will probably take another week at the least. I have four kids that have been waiting for birthday parties, for swimming and summer fun, and here we are middle of July still waiting for a completed pool. We have had to cancel deck installation, sand delivery and water delivery NUMEROUS times because of their mistakes. DO NOT USE THEM for a pool unless you are ready for headaches and very poor communication. I'm eagerly waiting to see how Gene "takes care of us" when we...
Read moreWe have been customers of Aquarius Pool and Patio for over 30 seasons, first with Gene and Pam Schurer and family and now with Ken and Tezzi Ellex. We have experienced nothing but the most attentive care of our pool in every respect. All in store personnel ("Amber 1" and "Amber 2," Bobby, Jak and Stepahnie) have been consistently helpful and friendly, including store manager Gary, heater tech, Jeff, and now retired outdoor pool special tech, Randy. In-store prices are very fair and competitive. Most frequently, however, we have seen Shade Sechman and his work partner, Bronson, several years at opening and closing of our pool. Both Shade and Bronson have shown an ardent work ethic each time they service our pool. Each time they have cared for our pool, they began working immediately as a team and worked steadily throughout their time on the job. Both are very personable and very competent in their work. I highly recommend dealing with Aquarius in every aspect of pool care. They are the best most trusty pool business in our...
