I recently visited the Black Friday store in Mooresville. Not a bad selection of items. Prices were good. What was not so good was a local uniformed police officer (not a security guard) who hung out for a lengthy amount of time intimidating the shoppers who dared appear to be opening or looking into a box. This store has a very strict policy of not being able to see or look into packages even if those packages do not identify the contents. I am not sure where in the Indiana Code it covers opening a package as an arrestable offense. The packages for the most part are not product packaging but are mailing envelopes or boxes, that do not identify the inside product. By the way this officer did not approach me, I saw these interactions on other customers it was very upsetting. To see her come up beside an unsuspecting customer not cool. I felt unsafe. Law Enforcement should not be presented like this and my father and 3 cousins are all retired Law Enforcement.
I wonder do the other stores in Mooresville also benefit from a Local Uniformed Police officer onsite to intimidate the shoppers to prevent opened packages such as Lowes or Krogers? Because a government paid Law enforcement officer should provide equal services to all. Of course, I am not sure all stores would welcome the profanity laced conversation this officer and the store employees all took part in.
The other thing I wish I had not noticed was the adult sexual pleasure merchandise just thrown in bins available for all including kids to handle, or buy. Then I noticed the return merchandise items actually have the original purchasers name address and sometimes even their purchase receipts! That is a whole lot of info that should not be out for sale.
The store employees were not friendly and were posted at a point of observation where they took turns with the Police officer going into the aisles intimidating and scolding customers who just want to know what they are looking at. It seems the friendlier version of this store’s methods would be when you get 100 tv remotes in boxes some with labels and some not you would label the ones not marked and save the hassle. Or all the tape that they seal the boxes with leave one end open but taped over so people can see. They might sell more. The store employees might also benefit by not putting themselves in the role of “strongarming shoppers”. I was trying to decide where I should send this letter. I just looked on Yelp and apparently this Uniformed Law Enforcement officer has been at this location...
Read moreUpdated review 2022- I gave this store a second chance, by using their auction concept.
I spent $700 total, on 3 different occasions. EVERYTHING, and I want to emphasize that EVERY THING was literally trash, missing pieces, or broken. They mark their items as "appears new", however they take pictures of the items good sides, and not the broken/missing sides.
For reference- I bought a mirror. They lifted the mirror out of the box, took a picture of the back side (that's painted gray) and said appears new. However the other side was completely destroyed. They seen that, and chose to take a picture of the back, and mark it as appears new.
This place is a scam, and they will sell you literal trash, and your stuck with hauling it off. Please do NOT spend a dime here.
Old review- Super awesome concept- however it is almost literal trash inside ALL the "mystery" boxes we bought. Out of 14 different unmarked boxes it all went in the trash. We went on a Saturday ($5 day so the most expensive day, I'm assuming since they sell the same stuff all week so by the end of the week it would all be picked through).
The stuff is so useless you can't even donate it to goodwill. I recommend if you go here- do NOT buy the unmarked boxes. It's not something "cool"- but something so useless the manufacturer didn't even want back.
I will say, the staff was friendly, and it was kinda fun, but in the end not worth it to us. I'd say only buy things that you can clearly tell what it is and...
Read moreMy sisters took me here (Best Place Ever) and OMG... I love this place. I wouldn't have known about if she hadn't had taken me. Thanks Sis... Lov ya for that!!!! The employees are all nice and for everything that is in there they keep it very clean and nice. You do have to bag up your own items when your done ringing up your great, wonderful and amazing finds, but once you find that one item that you seen somewhere before and then it's right in front of you for less than $5.00. Well that makes your day. The price are different each day of the week. One time it was $5.00 each item which you had all these white bags, you don't know what your getting unless you can feel it and know what it its? ( That's part of the fun) Then one time it was $1.00 for each item. This time it was picked over, but you could see what it was. Love to bargain hunt. If you love to do that too, this is the place for you!!!. Also on the side walks they have dented big box items for as low as $20.00. I got an rug for $20.00 brand new an looked it up and it would have cost over $100.00 at the store. Just know you never know what your will find, but it's fun doing the searching and its clears your mind of everything going on around you. Happy hunting. Truly a wonderful place to shop with friends and family. Plus they can help find things you didnt...
