I've always enjoyed the great value they offer here. The coolers and checkout lanes are from yesterday's world it's like stepping in a time machine. The produce is always fresh just a great little mom and pop shop. I hope they never have to modernize the inside, it's just perfect!

UPDATE: I stopped in last night (8/15 around 7:30pm) for the first time since the previous butcher retired. The two gentleman working in the meat department were not concerned with taking care of customers. In fact, only one of the two was actually helping customers, despite having a line The other guy was taking things into the cooler, I assume getting things ready for the next business day. Anyway, the bigger guy at the counter seemed more interested in discussing how bad it was to work there and gossip about all the things that were wrong with the place. I finally had an opportunity to ask a question and explained that I like to have my steaks cut thicker than what was stocked in the case. This guy tells me they are not allowed to cut steaks any thicker than what they make available and then added by cutting thick steaks it ruins the bigger cut of meat. Now keep in mind I normally make an order and come back the next day to pick it up. My order normally includes 8 Ribeye's and 8 New York Strip's cut 1.75 to 2 inches thick and wrapped individually. In the past, if they couldn't do immediately, they would prepare and have them ready for pickup the next day. By this time the second guy decided to help at the counter and gets me my steaks for last night and I forgo making my bigger order knowing I can absolutely get my steaks else where cut at whatever thickness I desire.

This place still has the potential to be great but they need to find employee's that like their job, that are willing to take care of the customer and skip the gossip! I always thought the butchers in grocery stores made good money, in my day all the employees would be competing for...

I had not had the opportunity to go to Value market since the older gentleman retired. The experience between the last visit and the next one was like night and day. Let me explain the last time I was in there the smell of the meat counter was horrendous. There also had been times throughout the last few years that I had wished that the meat counter was cleaner. But on the last night that I was there the smell was just horrible , I actually had made up my mind that I did not think that I would go back. But last week I decided to go back because I need to purchase some meat. I actually had made up my mind that I did not think that I would go back. But last week I decided to go back , because I needed some meat. Now don’t get me wrong the rest of the store is immaculate, well stocked and their staff could not be any better. The first thing that I noticed when I walked up was there was no bad smell at all. At that time I didn’t even know that they had installed new meat counters, I just thought the meat was beautiful, there was zero smell. I said something to young man about it and he told me that they had cleaned it up and put all new meat counters in and boy did it show.The two young men that waited on me could not have been any nicer, they were very polite. The prices of the meat are excellent, and so is the quality of the meat. I would recommend the store to anyone I give it a 10. I’m going to the store tomorrow and can’t wait to...

Had an issue with customer service at the Mooresville location. I have been a customer of this location since about 2010. I ordered meat for pick up, and screwed up, missing my pick up. I received a call the next day, and called back. I was told that the meat had been put back away because I failed to pick up. Totally on me and I apologized profusely. I asked if I was able to place another order for pick up the next day, it was told that would be OK. The next day, my wife in small child went to pick it up. When they went to the meat counter, they were told no way, I’m not doing it by the man at the counter. That meats out there because you didn’t pick it up, I’m not doing it. Life gets in the way, and people make mistakes. I apologized, and my wife apologized, but this business chose to yell at my wife in front of my child.
