Food Lion — Local services in Mooresville

So I am a native of Mooresville North Carolina born and raised we have been going to food Lion stores in our area ever since I can remember so around 35 years if not more, mostly due to there not being any other options on our side of the tracks due to the low income nature of the population. That being said I have never felt like I was harassed or totally belittled until today. I am saying this because I purchased at least 25 to $30 worth of their hot bar menu. It is fast convenient and typically decent and fresh. However today I was targeted by the deli manager as soon as I approach to the bar watched with a fine-tooth comb is I checked to make sure the food was at least edible because sometimes in past experiences the hot bar menu the food has been still and not even warm. Never left a bad review about those experiences because customer service to me is far more important. As soon as I went in to get my food from hot bar I was watched and targeted by the deli manager with a fine-tooth comb he watched me is I made sure the food was at least somewhat hot and not totally old already an uncomfortable situation as I felt like I was being harassed all of the items were okay not great but okay that is until I got to the mozzarella sticks which were by the looks of it totally stale. I sampled one of them seeing as how I was spending $30 and I did not want to waste 6 or 7 bucks on crappie plastic which is what mozzarella sticks taste like when they're old. After completing my hot bar experience with a aggressive man stalking me, realizing I left my wallet in the car I took my food and set it at the customer service area letting the cashier know that I would be right back I had to retrieve my wallet. As I was walking out of the store I was approached by the same very intimidating man who told me never to come back in the store and I asked him why explaining very calmly that I was simply going to get my wallet out of the car that the food was at the counter up customer service. But then I was already very uncomfortable by the way he had not only treated me during my hot bar experience but the experience that physically felt like I was going to be attacked. As I came back in two store already totally offended and emotionally distraught because I had been singled out in front of other customers for no reason I'm sure as the weather I was going to make any purchase at all at that point. I randomly ran into the night manager which was not random at all family asking him if he was the manager on duty in charge, he replied yes and then tried to explain calmly the very upsetting situation that it just occurred between myself and a store manager instead of making me feel better and apologizing on behalf of food Lion that I had a very traumatic experience he automatically went on defensive and implied that he had never met me although I have been coming to that store since before he was ever working there 15 years at least instead of helping me feel better about my very very troubling experience he only made me feel even more upset and even more isolated in alienated and to me I am wondering why I'm being 42-year-old grown man with two different degrees and no history of any type of violence or drug use, however instead of helping and apologizing on behalf of food Lion the man proceeded to imply that I was not okay because I was using my arms to express the displeasure I had just experienced at that store once again emphasizing the fact that emphasizing the fact that I had been a lifelong customer of not only that food Lion but all food lines probably spending well over 400000 k in my lifetime alone not to mention my families and that I was totally not only wrecked emotionally disrespected and made to feel like I was wrong for being upset, because I've been verbally attacked and humiliated in public by another employee. Needless to say I on the front end had asked him if there was a place in private we could discuss this however he chose to make it a public affair, once again alienating me is a person...

I don't know if it's Food Lion as a whole or just this one but this place is the worst! I can't tell you how many times I've bought meat that was spoiled there and have had to go back to get my money. They either don't keep track of the temperature of their refrigerators or just just repackage meat so they can sell it. Not to mention that I JUST GOT HOME from there and when I grab one of the chobani chocolate and hazelnut yogurts that I just bought, it tasted strange. When I look at the date, it says July 5th. today is the 6th! It's so disappointing that this store is so convenient but I'm going to have to STOP shopping there. They must not be following proper food safety protocols because I've only been here 2 years and have had WAY too many issues for it to be a fluke! I'll stick to shopping at Publix...

I was disappointed when I went into Food Lion for salad from the salad bar. It wasn't much past lunch but all the food hadn't been tended to since it was set up. I've worked food service, i know what im looking at and if you don't keep checking and mixing the food, especially the mixed salads, they will dry up on top. The lettuces were wilted, even the red cabbage! And no one went near the food bar while I was there. There was a skim across the fruits and cottage cheese. Very unappealing. And I left with a tasteless hardboiled egg, I needed something quick, a few leaves of Romaine and slice of beet from underneath the dried top slices... This is a training issue.
