Mooresville Golf Course — Local services in Mooresville

To start off I very much enjoyed this course years ago. I was told by friends that it had been remodeled and purchased by new management. I was very excited to play, as the weather that day was beautiful.

I recently got back in to golfing after a 5 year break. Initial thoughts of the golf course where great.

But here’s where it started going downhill. We rode up to the first tee and we where greeted nicely by an employee, that told us we are playing in with a single (completely understandable at this point). As we progressed through the course, we realized he was much, much better than us and asked him to play through. He chose not to and continue the entire front 9 pushing ahead and standing in the middle of the fairways. This made us very nervous to hit the ball.

Here’s where it gets better. As we approach the back 9, he tells us that he has a friend that is meeting up with him. The friend brought a new born, in a stroller, to the golf course. Again, we urged them to play through. They declined and the same thing that happened on the front 9, happened again on the back 9. Pushing forward, mind you, with a new born child, standing in the middle of the fairways... this was the worst round of golf I have ever played.

To end it all, we decided to go to the clubhouse and try and speak with someone about this. We where told he’s a club member and they’ll “chat with him”.

I hope someone reads this and pays a little more attention to what’s happening on...

This course is a joke! As of Sunday May 13th, this course is in horrible conditions. The greens are in horrible condition. They are extremely hard and is like putting on pie crust. You can actually hear your ball roll. The fairways are dried out and are a in worse shape that the greens. I have pictures of this hot mess to share if needed. We were charged $46 to play after 3PM on a Sunday. The pro shop attendant didn't mention the horrible shape of the course. Their website touts it as the best coarse in the State of NC. SO why are the conditions so bad. Oh and by the way, the grill and snack bar closed at 3:30 with no one letting us know they were going to do it. It was a high of 91 degrees and their were no water coolers on the coarse! I am still amazed how a place can be this bad. I thought that not too long ago this coarse was renovated. And if anyone puts a positive review anywhere near the date of May 13 2018, it has to be an employee. Go see for yourself how bad of shape this course is. And if the management wants an even more detailed response from me, please let me know. I think I am actually being nice. It was a scam. I see that they have memberships. If you meet Luke just know you’ll meet a great, fair, personable, and awesome guy. Because of him and other staff members the course is ran incredibly well. The fact that people could score this course lower than a 4 is mind boggling to me. The layout is super fun and very challenging. Maybe it’s not your typical hit it around course but it’s a true Championship course, so you need to hit good shots and keep it in the fairway. If you want your game tested or to just have a good time then come here. The tee boxes are all nearly perfect and very well maintained, as are the fairways and they are truly beautiful, and the greens are absolutely fantastic! And don’t even get me started on the food it’s genuinely incredible. The restaurant is awesome and Kelly who runs the Tavern does a fantastic job at everything she makes and she makes you feel welcome every time you step through the door at the turn. I hope they never change the food. If I had to change one thing about the course? It would be that I wish the course would drain a bit better. Other than that it’s the best...
