100% do NOT recommend! We had a bad experience with furniture fair in new bern so we were looking elsewhere for furniture. My mom has a couch she got from Furniture Distributors and we all love it so we figured weâd see if we could get the same one in a different color. I called the havelock location multiple times with no answer, so I called the morehead location. I spoke with Kassia Smith and told her we were looking for the voyager catnapper in slate gray in power and with a wedge. She said they had it, it was in stock, and her favorite couch. I asked her if they had it available in the havelock location since the morehead location was an hour away from us. She said havelock did have it in stock but she wished we would come to morehead because it was really slow that day and she could use the sale. In that moment, I didnât mind so much because she seemed nice it was like a breath of fresh air compared to what we dealt with at furniture fair. I told her we would be there in about an hour which would put us there around 5:45 and their store hours are until 7pm. We figured that would be plenty of time since we knew what we wanted and just wanted to see the color in person. We arrived right on time and were greeted by someone named Kit or Kip. He said Kassia was not there, she was out getting a birthday cake for a party and he was new so he couldnât really tell us anything. He didnât even know what we were there for. That was a huge slap in the face since we just drove an hour to get there when we were originally planning on going somewhere half an hour closer to us but she guilted us into going all the way there for her. We found the couch on our own since Kip/Kit didnât know anything about anything. We decided we liked it and were going to get it. Kassia was still not back yet so we decided to look around for bedroom furniture since we still needed that as well. She finally showed up. At the time she was still very nice but she was noticeably in a hurry and wanted to get the sale over with. We told her we wanted the couch and were interested in a bedroom set. Kip/Kit then came up to us and said she needed to leave in 15 minutes for a birthday party and she wouldnât have time to do everything. First of all, if she knew she had all these plans and wasnât staying until closing before the phone call, she shouldnât have pushed for us to come all the way there when she knew how far away we lived and that there was another location that was closer to us with the same items in stock. But my husband and I are very laid back and understanding people so we remained pleasant and proceeded with the purchase and told her we would come back another day for a bedroom set to accommodate her schedule. She rushed through the online portion of the paperwork (didnât go over anything with us other than the additional fees for the delivery and warranty) and left by 6:15pm. She left Kip/Kit alone there with us to finalize the sale and answer our questions. He made us perfectly aware that he was new and didnât have any idea what he was doing and that he had never even worked in sales before. He said she leaves him alone there all the time and it makes him very uncomfortable because he doesnât know what heâs doing. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and trusted it would all work out. He said we were all good to go and the only thing he gave us was a delivery ticket and sent us on our way. When we got home we looked over the deliver ticket and got nervous because it didnât say power, the wedge wasnât listed on there at all, and there was a mysterious $499 charge for âinstallationâ. They had already closed by then but I spoke with Kip/Kit on Sunday to go over our concerns. He said yes it was all in power and the installation fee was the charge for the wedge. The delivery guy brought ONE couch yesterday, and of course, it was manual. We sent it back and called the store. She wasnât there again. She called today and got into a huge argument with me saying I never asked for power and I was wrong and needed to pay more money if I...
Read moreI've had so much trouble with these people I don't know where to start. I'll start with the delivary, it was two hours past the four hour window I was given. Then they didn't have the correct hardware to attach a bed frame to the headboard. When they finally modified bolts too long to attach the frame and headboard they didn't tighten the bolts down, I took care of that. Before the truck was hardly out of my driveway I called the showroom, Lynn Underwood Store Manager answered. The $700 + tax recliner just wasn't working for me. I was told by Lynn that she would check with her manager later that evening about swapping it out and would call me back, she didn't. My follow up calls were mostly never returned but after a few days she said I could come in and pick out another recliner and they would just swap it out. I did that, went to their Morehead City store, sat in every recliner on the floor and finally selected one. She convinced me to let her send me some pictures of better quality recliners from their Havelock store. I agreed but promised pictures were not received. I gave her another email address, after more than a week had passed, and finally she sent me a few pictures. At her request, I drove to Havelock and picked out another chair approximately the same price as the original chair and sent her the info she needed to pull from inventory. She sent me an email saying she was working on that for me and that she would be in touch. Three days passed and no word from her. Finally my frustration got the best of me and I sent her another email noting I was ready to over her head, still no reply. Today I called her again, three weeks have passed now, and she once again puts me off while she contacts her district manager. I asked for that contact info which she refused to give me but "promised" she would have him call me within an hour or so. It's been about two and a half hours and I've not heard anything, big surprise. My next step is to log a complaint with the Secretary of State Office and the Better Business Bereau. Through the Secretary of State I can get the names and phone numbers of someone over Lynn Underwood. It's public information available on any company.licensed to do Business in NC. I also recorded my phone calls with her for...
Read moreFurniture Distributors in Newport, NC did not disappoint me and I owe it all to their top notch furniture pro Kassia Smith! When I first visited the store she must have sensed that I was a novice furniture buyer and took me under her wing. Kassia is extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and very, very patient. At no time did I feel pressured to make a hasty purchase. It took me numerous visits to the store before I finally committed to a custom (frame coils, fabric, pillows) order England Furniture sofa, loveseat, and pillows.
