IGA — Local services in Mount Carmel

Two things. Don’t trust stuff out of the smoker out front. We got a smoked pork butt and wound up with food poisoning because it was not cooked throughly. Also don’t order your party cakes from the bakery. I ordered almost a week in advance and only got barely half of my order ready the day of the party, wasn’t even what I requested and no one was there to be able to make it right cause they’d already left for the day. I had to compensate with what they had out in the cooler. Didn’t match my theme, and barely had enough. Terrible experience and will not be doing it again. 10/10...

Prices are too high on the groceries. I mostly go to get chicken from the deli, but I don't typically do my regular grocery shopping here. When I can go across the bridge into Indiana and almost everything is a fraction of the cost that it is at Buy Low, I'm not going to do much shopping there. Buy Low is okay in a pinch if you only need one or two things, but I prefer to go where I can get the most for my money. Example: Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream is $7-8 at Buy Low. I can go to a certain big retail store in Princeton and get it for $4.50, so why would anyone choose to...

They have most of the things you need for your everyday need. Weather it be food tools meds or just odd and ends. They normally have it along with a pharmacy to get your prescription at a decent price. The only thing that causes me to give it a 4 star is its evil self check out. That tells you to put every item in a bag and won't let you continue unless you tell it to skip it on every single time you scan an item.
