This place is a nightmare if you put items in on consignment. First of all, the staff does not take their fee out the same way. So I put expensive items in for a price and the store was supposed to charge an extra 30% or whatever on top of that. But when payment time came, they took their 30% out of my share. The biggest complaint I have is how hard they make it to get ANY of your money out of them. If you call to see if something has sold, you discover your call is always answered by the owner, who is always away from the store on her way to an estate sale. She said to go to the store and look around to see what has sold (rather than to have somebody check their book). I went to the store and a clerk looked in the book. Two lamps had sold. The store was supposed to call me, but didn't. Anyway, the books said "$60." I asked if that was my share and the lady said yes. But she said the owner has to give the money out. It hadn't mattered what week or month I called, I could never find the owner at the store, I voiced my concern that the store appeared to be set up to not pay people. The clerk got ticked off and told me I will need to take the rest of my stuff home whenever I come back. I called the store owner a few days later and, sure enough, she was on her way to another estate sale. However, I made arrangements to meet her at the store. When I got there, the owner said that her clerks could give us money if she had told them they could, whether or not she was at the store. In that case, the clerk should have simply called the owner the first time I came there to collect my share of the money so as to get the go-ahead to pay me. The lady denied she'd said the owner had to be there. She also denied having said things she'd said on this last trip. Like it was an inside joke. Hateful people. A friend of mine said it was difficult being a customer there. In fact, she drove me up there to get my stuff out and she just stayed in the car. Neither one of us will go back. They wrecked my birthday on that first visit, but they did me a favor by having me take the rest of...
Read moreI had an unfortunate experience with the staff at this store. During an estate sale I attended recently, I observed the owner, an older woman, behaving quite rudely towards my brother. She was running the table with a friend who was very kind. I saw her agree to lower prices for some older gentlemen who asked, which was fine, but her attitude was unprofessional.
Later, my brother found a box of miscellaneous items containing an A&M belt buckle. The box was priced at $2, and he inquired specifically about the belt buckle, as he wasn't interested in the other items. The owner increased the price after doing her research, despite her earlier willingness to negotiate. When my brother attempted to negotiate, she dismissively stated it was the first day of the sale and not her home, so no deals would be made. I was disappointed, especially since I had previously seen her making deals earlier in the sale.
Today, we visited the store again to look at some fall items. I inquired about a small, inexpensive hoverboard on the ground, which my child was interested in. She quoted $45 for it, despite the device not having a charger, not turning on, and being worth roughly $15 based on my research. When I pointed this out, she responded dismissively and was quite rude, dismissing my concerns and making snarky remarks.
Overall, I found her attitude to be unprofessional and disrespectful. I’ve heard some things about this store before, and my experience confirmed those concerns. There were items I was interested in, but I quickly lost interest after feeling disrespected. I want to commend my 15-year-old brother for how he handled himself during this experience; I am very...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to go to. I come by often to expand my cell phone collection and/or find something unique/useful. Example: I found a Midland WR-100 weather radio for $3, and it was functional! I also found a Gameboy Advance SP for $30 and that works too! The atmosphere and the employees are as nice as you can imagine. The only problem I can think of is they need heaters in the back area, so if you're planning to visit this winter, bring a jacket!
Below are some images of my treasures. If you're looking for something specific, chances are you'll...
