First I want to say THANK YOU for the after midnight full menu. Next thing you should be aware of is that this is a night club. It appeared to be a casual attire atmosphere featuring a live dj. If I were younger this place would have been full on 5 star and I would have stayed until closing. With that said beware when you Google "food near me open" at midnight. The food was poorly presented as it took a great deal of searching to find the small bites of gator underneath the pile of what appeared to be fresh cut fries and though plentiful the fried pickles were extremely salty. However, the steak was perfectly cooked and I do recommend trying it for yourself. For 2 meals and 1 appetizer the cost was a whopping $93 with no drinks included. Finally, the service. The front door encounter was perfectly welcoming and they sent us to the bar to pick our food and there was when the stars fell as the first 2 employees told us that they didn't have any to go orders before finally another person dropped what they were doing and went to check. These encounters mirrored the phone conversation I'd experienced when calling in as the person actually hung up on me before I could get the total of the bill which I would have canceled before it was prepared. I think given the quality of service, presentation, and awkward proportions even considering today's economy the price was almost...
Read moreLast night was our first time back to Mardi Gras since we moved back to Mt Vernon in July. It was a pickup order so I will not comment on staff or atmosphere. My wife called in our order and was told it could be picked up at 4:45 (6lb Crawfish and Pineapple Grilled Chicken). She had to wait an additional 20 minutes when she arrived for our order. Everything had a great flavor, but the majority of the food was inedible for different reasons: Potatoes and Corn were grossly overcooked to the point of being chewy. Chicken was overcooked where the area at the edges were crispy. Crawfish were the worst part as Most were overcooked (or cooked dead) where they were mushy and the tail meat just disintegrated when you tried to peel the tail, there were some that were undercooked at the tail peeled with difficulty and the meat was very rubbery, and they had not been purged properly as most of them were still full of dirt. The pound or so we were able to eat had great flavor and heat level was on point! I refuse to condemn a restaurant based on a single visit due to the current state of staffing and health issues going around. It could have just been someone's bad day. We will be...
Read moreI would give zero stars if possible. Would NEVER recommend. Food was horrific... catfish was rubbery and the fried crawfish tails tasted awful. Wasn't even supposed to get catfish but the waitress got my order wrong 🙄. Honestly just prayed I wouldn't have food poisoning before I left. Went to the music venue side and was told any table without a reserved label was open. We chose a table without a reserved designation, sat and listened to live music for over 2 hours. Then the owner asks us to move because allegedly the table suddenly became "reserved". By this time there were no tables available and had no intention of standing the rest of the night. We asked for a discount, since we had paid $20 per person and had ordered food and drinks all evening waiting for the headliner to perform and only heard 30 min of his set. The owner refused to make any concessions and then tried to charge our credit card a GRATUITY.....the audacity. AT NO POINT WAS A GRATUITY WARRANTED FOR THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED. We will NEVER go back. I'd rather eat water with a fork than step foot inside that poorly managed establishment that has been in decline...
