I'm not one to do many reviews, especially not negative ones. So I will say first off this park is beautiful! From the turf fields to the breeze off the water, I give that a star. The "privately" owned park is not where u want to go for a FAIR tournament, I strongly advise to not spend the money here coaches players and families! The umpires are very biased and horrible for bad calls that are VERY VERY EVIDENT!! It truly takes the fun out of the game! Win, loose, or tie, all we want is to see the kids have a fair game! I had video of start to finish of the tournament from behind homeplate and then others with other angles, and when I personally just tried to speak to director, I was told by the guy in 1st picture who said he was assistant director that he was counting money what did I need? He could answer my question. I expressed my concerns, and he replied "What you want me do about it?" I said would you like to see as he said "yeah", I showed him he said "oh I wasn't paying u no attention I was watching a game." Seriously???Very unprofessional, rude and stnobby. I finally found the director (who in fact was not counting money, but riding the golf cart around the park). I told him issues he went and sat and watched maybe 15 mins and left. Thing is both teams deserved better than that on the calls made. Both teams came together in agreement on the horrible calls and jobs umps did as well as for each others teams. Both teams played a great game and were robbed by bad calls for both sides. This is coming from a winning team parent too! So it's not a bitter baseball mom review. This is an arrogant, unprofessional, biased, cheating "private" park, who feel intitled because their last name was passednon down from a rich daddy. 🙄 Take the silver spoon attitudes out, get some trained umpires that can keep up (under 75 recommended) and let these kids play some ball while u collect people's money. Js that's the very least you could do! It may be pretty on the outside but the inside is well you get tbe picture. #highlydisappoined #Toogreatofaparkforthat...
Read moreI coach a team locally here and we play most of our tournaments at Shipyard. I was very surprised to see the negative reviews and most of them just made me laugh. Umpires are human. We all get our fair share of calls we don’t like. We have played over a dozen tournaments, and though we are getting better, we have yet to win one sponsored by shipyard. Made it to the championships a couple times, but definitely no bias here. There are a lot of very talented teams from around the country that come so you get to experience all different levels of competition, which makes it fun and a great experience for the players. There is a big playground all the younger kids not playing are running around having a blast!. The concessions are fast and delicious. I recommend the cheeseburgers and the brisket quesadilla. Definitely sounds like the negative reviews came from people who traveled here, and simply lost. And we are happy to pay the $25 weekend admission for family over 6 yrs old to enjoy a...
Read moreBeautiful Facility with nice views; however, their code of ethics aren’t upheld by no means! Directors for the tournament were approached multiple times about parents flipping off others in the stands and talking horribly about 11U players on another team other than theirs. Bad mouthing the ump for tending to an injured player on the opposing team, asking the ump how much time he was going to burn? What was done about it, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! How a grown “man” can bad mouth and belittle 11U baseball players is beside me. Guess when you team is not winning you have to stoop to the low levels of the earth to feel better about yourself. If that is your style, this park will allow it and nothing will be done. Oh, they will ban an entire team for speaking up (politely) about the decisions made during...
