Playing Streamsong Red was a course I couldn’t wait to check off my bucket list given how highly rated it is. But after playing there, I don’t really understand the hype. First, I live in Orlando and to me the course is in the middle of nowhere so I can’t imagine how it must feel to someone out-of-state. And arriving to find the resort and the courses 10 minutes away from each other makes it even more remote feeling. Second, I found the whole caddie situation frustrating. We were a group of four with carts and a caddie was mandatory. While our caddie was incredibly nice and knowledgeable, the constant instruction and pressure to keep moving gave me unrelentless anxiety and inability to even think about my shot or try and make my own decisions. Third, the pace of play was frustrating. The tee times were ten minutes apart yet on almost every hole there was a group on the green, a group hitting their second shot, and a group on the tee box. It was like an assembly line meant to shuttle you from one hole to the next rather than have an enjoyable round of golf or be able to take in the views of the course itself. Candidly, I couldn’t tell you anything memorable about the actual course because it was constantly go, go, go. Finally, the conditions of the course were nothing spectacular in my opinion and maybe if you’ve never golfed outside of Florida it seems very unique but if you have golfed in Arizona or western states, it’s fairly average. Being from Orlando, I find Grand Cypress and Orange County National to be nicer and more enjoyable course of equivalent size.

Truly beautiful course that is in top condition. With that, the price is a premium ($200) and you must have a caddy accompany you ($45+tip). I had a great time, but wasn't expecting to dish out extra money for the caddy, as the whole group had carts. Anyway... I think it's definitely still worth the trip, as it was truly breathtaking. Greens rolled about a 9.

I am a Kemper employee from Ohio who traveled down to Florida to play Streamsong Red. Had an exceptional experience. Carmen, our starter was personable, friendly and made us feel welcome!! Scott, our group caddie was great as well. Very personable, dedicated to his job and just fun to talk with! Would love to return!!

I played with family as a foursome in mid-January 2025. Pretty much a let down which I can’t believe I’m typing. The details are as follows:

When we got there we were told carts weren’t allowed and we had to walk, so 2 of us with heavier bags got push carts. The receptionist at the pro shop didn’t provide a receipt of any kind so when we got to our tee box at the scheduled tee time, they wouldn’t give us our push carts because we didn’t have a receipt. We had to go back to the pro shop and get them which was a 10-15 minute process. We were late teeing off by a few minutes because of this - keep this in mind. The starter informed us of a 4hour 30 minute round pace, which equates to 15 mins a hole. We were playing wolf btw, which is more or less a scramble.

After 5 holes were spoken to by the starter we were behind pace by about 10-15 minutes total, so about 2-3 minutes a hole. Bear in mind we took literally 0 second shots, walked at a brisk pace the entire time, and frankly could not have played faster without actually running. The 3 players behind us who had carts (don’t know how btw since we were told we couldn’t use them) had 2 caddies (we had none) and were on us from the 2nd hole on.

The whole round was just go go go. Completely rushed the entire time and felt unable to even think about what I was doing or check out the hole topography ahead of time.

On hole 5 the guys behind us drove into me which is ridiculous given the fact that they had 2 caddies and could easily see us in an open par 5 with an elevated tee box.

The concession stand at the turn was closed so 0 snack/drink breaks there. Not that we could have given the pace of play mandated by the staff.

0 cart people the whole course. Only at hole 13 was there a parked cart with drinks/snacks.

The course and the land was beautiful and the design was cool. Greens and fairways were ok, nothing exceptional imo.

I’m not sure I’ll go back. The round was just under $400. The place is in the middle of nowhere to begin with, and the amenities were just not up to what that price point should yield. Add to that the insane pace of place mandated by the course and it just comes off as disrespectful when you’re paying that much and driving 1:40 from Tampa...
