Dear Streamsong Golf Resort Management, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my recent stay at your property. I joined a group of eight for a three-night golf trip, during which we had six rounds of golf scheduled across two courses daily. I was personally acquainted with only one member of the group, who invited me, and was introduced to the others upon arrival. They all appeared to be respectable individuals. On the second day, after completing the first round, we proceeded to the clubhouse for lunch. One member of our group, who had consumed alcohol and was noticeably intoxicated but not disruptive, was addressed by staff. Prior to the second round, we encountered an issue with our golf carts, as the USB ports for charging devices were non-functional, and the carts had not been replaced as promised to prevent battery issues mid-round. Our caddy requested new carts, and when staff arrived to address this, they informed the intoxicated individual that he was prohibited from consuming further alcohol for the remainder of the day. Additionally, they notified all bartenders on the property of this restriction. The individual accepted this decision without protest. After completing the second round, six of us boarded the shuttle to return to the hotel, while the individual in question and another member traveled by car (with the sober member driving). At this point, a staff member approached their vehicle to reiterate the alcohol restriction, which led to a verbal disagreement. The individual felt it unnecessary to be reminded, as he had already complied. The situation escalated, and the staff member threatened to involve the police over this verbal exchange. As a sober member of the group who does not consume alcohol, I approached security to clarify the situation. To my shock, we were informed that our entire group was being evicted from the property. This decision was both bewildering and deeply humiliating, particularly for myself and the six other members who had no involvement in the incident. I requested to speak with a manager, but was told no one was available and that the decision was final. I have never experienced such an ejection from a hotel in my life. It is unacceptable to penalize an entire group for the actions of one individual, especially when the majority of us were not involved in any misconduct. While I do not condone inappropriate behavior, the response was disproportionate and unjust. Golf resorts are environments where moderate alcohol consumption is common, and issues with one individual should be addressed individually, not by collectively punishing uninvolved guests. As a Florida resident living near your property, I am thoroughly disappointed by this experience and the lack of professionalism displayed. I was escorted off the premises by police despite having done nothing wrong, which was both embarrassing and unwarranted. Consequently, I will not return to Streamsong Golf Resort nor recommend it to others. I request a formal apology and a review of your policies to prevent such incidents in the future. I look forward to...
Read moreCame here with 3 other guys to play Streamsong Red course in mid-January.
The course: absolutely phenomenal. Layout was great, condition was perfect. Loved everything about the course. It’s challenging, but also not tooo challenging for the mid-handicapper like myself.
The experience: not so good. We had a foursome of young athletic guys playing a game of ‘Wolf’ (aka 2 vs 2 scramble). We all have handicaps ranging from 8-15. We walked the entire course and played pretty quickly. Didn’t search for the few lost balls we had. Walked to our shots and hit. We played the first 4 holes in just under an hour. On hole 5 tee box we were told by starters we need to pick up the pace because we were 10min behind and the people behind us were catching up. They were a threesome with carts hitting from the front tees. We were already playing fast and mind you, this is an extremely uphill course and not that easy to walk with a bag, but we hustled and were hitting shots with our heart rates above 150! The next few holes we even picked up the pace more. I was out of breath, would hit my ball, and start walking up the fairway before my partner even hit. At hole 9 starter stopped us again and told us the people behind us shouldnt be catching us and need to keep moving. I hadn’t even stopped to catch my breath or use the restroom and I had to pee since the 3rd hold. At this point I was angry because I wasn’t even enjoying the course, my time with friends, or even taking in the $400 round. I was annoyed. To make matters worse, the concession stand at hole 8/9 was closed. There were no food/beverage carts or anything the front 9. Not until the 13th hole was there a concession cart with minimal food and drink. Not that I even had time to eat or drink because I had the marshall up our ass the whole time. We proceeded to play rushed, and by the 15th hole, we basically didn’t care anymore and actually took our time. Also, this was a chilly day and the starter told us there were only a handful of groups even playing the entire day. So why the rush???
In summary, I was disappointed with the way we were treated. We drove out to the middle of nowhere to play a $400 round of golf, and I didn’t even have a second to think about my shot/putts, or even take in the entire experience. I’m treated better at my local $65 municipal course than I was here. It felt more like an assembly line than anything. I more than likely will not come back unless something changes, or we are able to use carts (you can only use them if you have a medical exemption).
Also, the pushcarts suck. I’m 6’4” and the cart kept hitting my foot when I pulled it. Had no cup holder. Had nowhere to put anything.
We played Cabot the day before and let’s just say Cabot is about a million times better in every possible way, compared to Streamsong.
If you are a 7 or below handicapper, you might enjoy the course and sprinting to each hole, but for intermediate golfers, it was not the experience I hoped it would be.
The clubhouse: just one little restaurant with the usual golf course food. Outdated feel. Staff...
Read moreSterile, unfriendly, in the middle of nowhere. They are the first things that come to mind. The rooms are nice although a little corporate and lack character. Most of the staff are uninterested and in speaking to them seems a result of a corporate structure lacking creativity or passion which may be find for the variety of 80 year old male doctors visiting, but for a group of 25 younger to middle aged dudes from around the world spending a lot of money for a few day golf trip the actual resort doesnt have much to offer. A couple exceptions staff wise were Rose and the big bearded manager at the Fin and Feather and Joseph in the bar at the Black course. Most of our groups had an unpleasant experience with some guy, supposed Pro named Paul who at hole 11 or 12 rolled up and aggressively told us we were behind, with no prior warning, then when we thought he was coming back to apologize for his rudeness 5 minutes later, he again berated us telling us we were a hole or so behind. Again, this is not our first rodeo and there are ways to communicate and deal with this. He ruined many of our groups day, and trip. The golf courses, Red and Black, are nice, challenging, could use more signage as the bunkers and the paths look the same much of the time. The caddies it seems really are hit and miss, from over talking and opinionated which detracts from the experience, to totally not interested weed smoking with not much knowledge. At $100 per player would much rather a GPS in the carts which are standard low budget carts, and no caddie. Cart girl Kylie was sweet, but they had hell bailed up around the 10th parked under a roof which considering the course is full of groups of dudes wanting to have fun, she and the course could have added to the experience and earns tens of thousands more just by driving around and selling drinks. Weather is really hit and miss being inland Florida, so itll generally be warm, humid and rain and storms will be in and out, but the course and greens to drain really well. The food at the restaurant by the lobby is solid. Steak tacos and steak are great. Breakfast is pretty good. Shuttles are great, quick, golf club service good. Main problem with this place is being an hour away from any civilization and the post golf entertainment being very light. The bars upstairs could be great, but the room with the simulators has terrible piped corporate music the staff said they cannot change, the lights are bright and no atmosphere. The cocktail bar was better but needs more music, interested staff. The pool and jacuzzi area could be amazing with some speakers and music played around it and staff actually wandering, interested, servicing guests drinks and food rather than an uninterested grumpy lady sitting in the pool bar. Again, many ways to make this amazing. Needs new hospitality management to build an experience for folks to make the trip. Probably wouldn't recommend a stay there but if youre driving by,...
