Highlights: You could swing by with $4 and have a comfortable shopping trip (they're cheap!). The store is very large for a used bookstore. Great selection of children's books, and they even have a small kid's play area.
Long Version: This store pobably has the lowest prices of any used bookstore in the area. They're very affordable and they have a fantastic selection of children's books.
There is a small children's play area with wooden trains for children and a very large selection of children's books. They have a mid-size selection of DVD's, and a modest selection of videogames for various platforms. They also have a great selection of board games. The fiction selection is quite large, while the non-fiction has room to grow. They have a modest selection of manga.
Parking is ample and the location is convenient since it is on the way to get to the downtown hubs or errands (DMV, New Salem HWY, etc).
The store is wheelchair accessible from outside. While there is a lack of seating, this also means aisles are easier to navigate.
I would say the biggest demerit here is ambiance. There's nothing that pulls you to want to spend a long time perusing. The walls are pretty bare for the larger space in the back and the lack of seating means you're stnading on concrete, usually in the way of someone trying to walk past while you browse. Some wall art, music, and seating (maybe tucked here and there like how they do at shoe stores) would go a long way. This used bookstore is still very new, so I look forward to seeing how the owner improves...
Read moreThe Happy Book Stack is truly a hidden gem in Murfreesboro! I've visited countless bookstores over the years, but this one stands out for both selection and value. Their prices are unbeatable - I consistently find books at a fraction of what I'd pay elsewhere.
What impresses me most is their incredible variety. Whether you're looking for homeschool materials, religious texts, fiction, non-fiction, or children's books, they have it all! Their homeschool section is particularly impressive and has saved our family so much money on educational resources.
Beyond books, they've expanded to include board games, video games, Blu-Rays, and an extensive collection of comic books that my kids absolutely love. They even carry collectibles that appeal to both casual fans and serious collectors.
The staff is knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy, creating a welcoming atmosphere where you can browse at your leisure. I've never walked out empty-handed - there's always something new to discover!
If you're a book lover, homeschool parent, or just someone looking for entertainment options that won't break the bank, The Happy Book Stack is absolutely worth a visit. It's become our family's go-to spot for everything from educational materials to weekend entertainment. Truly deserving of...
Read moreI’ve come here multiple times. I may not always find what I‘m looking for here, but it’s very specific and this is more of a nitpick than anything else. But the people are super generous, very down to earth and they ensure customer satisfaction with absolutely hard to beat prices you won’t find anywhere else. I traded some stuff with these guys a little while back as of writing this and got remorse for it, but the manager hooked me up with a deal that didn’t require me spend more just to get back what I sold off. And I may or may not have scored some sweet Blu-Ray box sets that I would have never found elsewhere for the price they were here. Y’all give this place some much needed love...
