Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Nahunta

UPDATE 8/28 : It's actually worse! I shopped there yesterday, Wednesday. It's the 1st day of of a new ad. First stop, cottage cheese. Completely out. In fact , a lot of items were missing from this area. Next stop, deli. Of course I knew they were closed it was 3pm. The small cooler with precut meats and cheeses was partially full. But they did not adjust the price of the turkey that was supposed to be on sale. I didn't feel like searching for an employee, so I moved on. My next item was shank smoked ham that was on sale. I found them and they were not marked down. Onto the freezer section. Not sure if they were under maintenance but, they were mostly empty. I'm really glad that I don't count on this grocery store to feed my family. I am lucky that I have transportation to drive 30 minutes to the next town for groceries. I've heard they may be going out soon as we are getting a brand new store in this little town and I am thrilled to hear it. Looking forward to a deli that stays open past 1 or 2. Had 6 things on my list, only bought 3. The deli at this location closes at 2pm. They are losing a lot of business by doing this. They used to slice some of the meats and cheeses and put them out for customers, but today, there was very little. This is a small town, and there are no other grocery...

I want to start with the positives. The manager here is hands on and eager to help. Cashiers are always smiling and friendly. Meat is fresh and the store is over all clean and easy to locate what you're looking for. Now the issue at hand...their prices! There's absolutely no reason to be that high. Most items are double the price of other places. I've resorted to visiting 3-4 stores per shopping trip to get better pricing. The prices are so high the owner could literally stock the store from a winn-dixie and still make a decent profit. Makes me wonder if they have a vendor or if they...

I stopped in craving fried chicken and I got a white snack with potato salad and a roll to go to Bayview Nursing and rehab to eat lunch with my grandmother. One look and needless to say we both ate all we could him and her regular lunch tray was pushed to the side and they came to take up the trays and hers was untouched! Great lunch with my granny, the food was amazing and we had an extended visit, so it made our day...
