B & B Hardware Do it Best — Local services in Napoleon Township

I have been in this store a few times. It's convenient because it on my route to and from work. On June 16th I wanted to get some keys made and was advised when I stopped in the day before that the key blank may come on a truck that very day. I had some late duties at work, so I called the Brooklyn Michigan location and asked how late they were open. The young man that answered the phone thought out loud, and said "it's Friday so we are here until 8pm" I stopped on my way home about 730pm and the doors were locked. I figured it was just a simple mistake and planned to not think about it and just stop on my way in Saturday morning. I did this and an older very thin man helped me.... unfortunately he was very rude in the process and had to ask me repeatedly how many keys I requested. At this point I told him that a employee did tell me that the store was open until 8pm Friday night, so they may not know the store hours. He curtly replied "they know the store hours". This is the most rude I have been treated in a retail establishment in a very long time. I suppose the next time I need a key I will go to a kiosk, ACE hardware or another business. In addition, this store has a lawn figure right next to the check out that has its hand up and giving the middle finger to customers that pay at this checkout . Not s great example for B&B hardware. It pains me to write this, because it takes time to do, and I would rather be doing more productive things. However, maybe it will save another customer of this type...

After 35 plus years of myself and my family using b and b we will no longer come here. Today 5-5-25 my dad bought pea gravel. It unbeknownst to him it was full of mud and water. The worker loaded it in the back of his suv and when he got home everything was soaked and I mean absolutely soaked and full of mud. I got the bags out and they were leaking all over the place. My dad called Jeff and he was being a sarcastic asshole and told my dad to buy and truck and pay him 9 grand to keep the pea gravel inside. We were both shocked because Jeff had always been cool. But that nasty response was unacceptable and unprofessional. It's gonna take me all day to get this mud...

This store still has all the best parts of a real old fashioned hardware store. They have recently built a new modern building and expanded their sales floor but don't seem to have lost anything. Today is a good example, I needed some gas pipe cut and threaded. This isn't something that can be "good enough" it has to be right. This store has highly skilled employees not just clerks. Their prices aren't bad either although they don't carry many of the cheapest kinds of tools. You know the ones designed to only...
