Less expensive than I'd expected, except for one not-quite-but- almost-necessary item -- one which etiquette dictates houseguests really ought to "bring with" in all but the most dire instances: But sadly, cut flowers - starting at $21, mind you - did not grace our shopping basket. Not really a problem in the end, since at least 3 of us are avowed cheapskates (and yes, Gentle Reader, one must include oneself when telling Truths.) Once again, I digress. Read moreI now only shop here when in a time pinch. The deli department is great and the bakery has amazing product. The selection of groceries is very specific- and a little more pricey than stop&shop. I think they must freeze all the produce, and let it sit out too long after that. The eggplant I bought got fuzzy by the stem in 12 hours. After several chances and similar experiences I have stopped buying produce from them...

They specialize in fruits and vegetables, a deli counter, some specialty and prepared foods. There's a surprising amount of organic foods. They also usually have lovely flowers and platters, so a good place to stop if you want to pick up something to bring to a dinner party. It's very convenient for me and my go-to place to get something quick. My kids like their meatballs. :) They are also very community minded...
