Brightside Seafood Market is an absolute gem, thanks to the incredible team of Mike and Meg!
Their fish selection is unbeatable halibut, swordfish, sablefish, steelhead trout, salmon, and scallops just to name a few we have tried all impeccably sourced and expertly filleted.Ā Everything has been super fresh.
The freezer section is equally impressive, with top-notch options like lobster meat, crabcakes, stuffies, and fish burgers (we loved the yellowfin tuna andĀ swordfish versions).Ā They also have a variety of yummy appetizer options like smoked blue fish & smoked salmon, white fish dip, grilled shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops ~ we have tried and can recommend them all!
Mike is a true fish expert he canĀ tell you the history and habits of every fish heĀ sells where it was caught, what it was eating, and how that affects the flavor.Ā It's like a mini marine biology lesson with every visit.
Meg brings the culinary magic ~ she always has greatĀ suggestions onĀ how to prepare theĀ fish and which of theĀ unique sauces theyĀ sell will complement it best.Ā Her advice has turned many of our meals into something really special.
A recent highlight was having Meg cater dinner for a friendās 60th.Ā Meg arrived after a full day at work and seamlessly put together a stunning meal starting with a bright, citrusy scallop ceviche, followed by perfectly prepared halibut served with an array of toppings and side dishes so fun!Ā It was delicious, beautifully presented, and felt truly special.Ā Meg nailed it ~ and she is as kind, warm and fun, as she is talented.
Brightside is much more than just a seafood market ā itās a place where knowledge, passion, and a great team of caring people come together.Ā I highly recommend you try it!
Ps: Don't know how I forgot to mention sushi grade fish that we have tried and is soooo delicious!! Tuna and Fluke,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually don't leave reviews, but this is the third time theyāve sold us bad fish. Everytime, they assured us it was fresh, but hours later when we took it out of our fridge and opened it, it was slimy and smelled awful. The odor filled the entire kitchen. There's no way they didn't know it was going bad. Seems like they were more concerned about offloading their stock before closing than being honest. Really disappointing experience. ** Response to the owners reply: First of all, it's disappointing to receive a defensive reply rather than a proactive resolution. When I mentioned "us," I was referring to both my mother and myself, as she used her credit card for the other purchases. My mother has previously returned bad fish you sold to her, which you acknowledged to her when she returned the most recent shrimp, so it wasn't just that day you had issues with your product that went unnoticed. It's disheartening to see such handling of customer concerns. A refund would have sufficed (we returned the bad shrimp two days ago now), which I'm still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked into Brightside looking for dinner and left feeling like I just went on a deep-sea adventure without the seasickness. The selection of fresh fish was so good and fresh, I swear some of them winked at me. From the perfectly pink salmon to the mussels that looked like they could have their own gym memberships, the seafood was top-notchšš»
Mike and Meg are absolute legendsāthey didnāt just sell fish, they give a mini masterclass on how to cook it! Meg even explained the fish anatomy to my son! The market was clean, organized, and didnāt smell like the bottom of the ocean, which is a win in a lot of peopleās books!
If youāre looking for fresh seafood, friendly staff, and fish that practically swim into your basket, this is the place. Plus, the oysters? Iām pretty sure they were the best Iāve ever had, and Iāve eaten oysters like Iām trying to set a world record. 11/10, Iāll be backāpossibly to apply for a job as a part-time fisherman.
