Dollar General — Local services in Nashville-Davidson

Let's face, Dollar general isn't that great to begin with they're just convenient because they have dozens of stores within 5 miles of each other.

That being said, this one has got to be one of the worst. They do not honor their hours of operation, which is supposedly 8:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. On any given day you can find them closed at 6:00 p.m., and that's if they open before noon.

And let's not forget the pricing for everything, they update pricing in their system, but not on their shelves. Example, went to buy a jar of jam that was listed as $3.25, The shelf tag matched the item tag, but it rang up as $5 at the register. And no, they will not honor the shelf price which seems pretty deceptive.

Trash litters the parking lot like an apocalyptic wasteland, and the inside is not much better. One day when I went in here, there were feces on the floor, I told the employee who was at the front, and he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do about it.

That behavior right there sums up the state of the store. I've since quit going to Dollar general just based off this location. I would rather drive further to a more expensive store chain then go to a...

Dollar General, would you PLEASE just close this store to make room for a mini Aldi!? Oh wait... It's already always closed. Went by the other day around noon, closed. Just went by otw home from work (Tue 6pm), closed. When it IS open, they have this super condescending and surly kid working the register (who, despite his ill tempered demeanor, wears all this stuff with crosses and Christian phrases on it) who looks at you like you're an idiot while you're just waiting on him to do his job. They opened a self checkout but rendered it inoperable so you are forced to deal with him. The store is a catastrophic failure and only offers processed garbage to its patrons....

This location specifically definitely operates off of their own set of rules. There’s a specific girl with red hair that works the night shift and she closes 10 to 15 minutes early every night. I have been by there multiple times over the past few months and she is at the register and there are multiple people standing around talking to her while the doors are locked before 9 PM when the place is set to close. I am extremely disappointed with this location and the way that they operate I will not be returning. If I could give less than one star, I would, but I had to give one for the sake of leaving this review. Do better Dollar General,...
