McKay’s is a unique and huge used goods store where you can buy and sell books, instruments, music, electronics, toys and more. Located in Bellevue, McKays has a large parking lot with a loading and unloading zone for those selling a lot of items. To sell you walk in and on the left there’s a roped off line that takes you to the McKays buyers. You bring your items up and they give you a numbered ticket that they’ll display on a screen when your items are done being reviewed. Typically takes 45min-1 hour (they’re usually decently busy but sometimes it’s less busy before 10am.) McKays resells your items at about half the resale price. They offer store/trade credit of 50% the resale price (what they sell the items for) or cash at 1/3 of the 50%. Don’t expect to make a lot of cash off your items unless you bring in a lot of items or rare / expensive items (I’ve seen a rare Taylor Swift vinyl for sale at McKays for $1,895.) However, it’s a great way to get a little cash or store credit for your unused items. As far as the selection of items McKays has to offer, I’ve always found unique and fun books as well as some modern/current reads. It’s always a fun hunt. Same goes for the music selection. I’ve always purchased used guitars from McKays. They typically have a great selection (it’s Nashville after all) and they have music accessories as well, amps, cords, loop pedals, etc etc. Overall, a great, fun and unique experience!

Large selection of all sorts of new and used entertainment, music, education, toys, and collectibles. The enormous array of reading materials can keep you occupied for hours. From educational, DIY (sometimes tools!), reference materials, fiction and non-fiction, romance, fantasy, historical, YT, OT (old teen) etc. etc. etc. MUSIC! If you have ears they have the waves to fill them! Wax! Vinyl, 45's, 8-track, cassette, CD, MP3 players, on and on and on. Wait, you don't just like to hear your favorite jams? You like to jam yourself? Well then! They carry Guitars, drums, flutes, ukes, amps, drum machines, organs.. If it makes noise, they probably got it. Hold on, not your thing? You like to game? Well my friend I ask, board, video, or cards? Consoles for all ages and types, Odyssey™ and beyond. PC and Apple products. Parts and peripherals for all things electronic. Looking for that expansion to further your campaign? You might be in luck. Trying to find those right cards to stack your deck? Get to flipping, you might find a rare one to hide in your arsenal. And to our favorite things since childhood. The stuff that brings all of these intrests together. Toys and collectibles. From way way back when TV was on the radio. For real, they were selling the Bibo Magic Spin and ball-in-a-cup! Dolls, model trains, Barbies™, G.I. Joe™, Lego, Manga, models, arts and crafts, things you haven't seen since your friend borrowed it in grade 3! For real, just go check'em out. I highly advise to clear your afternoon. You won't realize you have been searching and reminiscing for hours when your kids finally find you and beg you to buy all the arm fulls of fun they, "have always wanted!" Oh! Almost forgot, McKay's buys and trades all the exciting stuff you and yours have had your fill...

First and foremost I have only visited one location and that is the West Nashville location for McKay's bookstore I've been there on three separate occasions all of which I brought items to sell all three times I left with all of my items. Now I understand business I understand they have to make a profit.I would expect that half of the current market value would be a fair price to pay to make a profit. But sadly McKays came nowhere near close. On one occasion I brought in a collection of vinyl at which they offered me $68 in store credit or $16 cash that same collection sold the very next morning for $600 which was half of the current market value. Another occasion I came in with a collection of books 32 Stephen King hardback first editions and much to my surprise they had an offer ready for me in less than 3 minutes. Let's just say that their speedy evaluation of my items let me know that I would be boxing them back up. This time I was offered $138 in-store credit or $68 cash which I turned down. I have two separate offers right now one for $700 and $800. How McKays has close to a five-star rating I can only assume that this is based off of other locations or that the sellers do not care or are naive about the value of their items that they are selling. However I am not and I will not be visiting McKay's ever again to say that they're offering was a joke would be too Fair their offer was more like robbing someone of...
