This is my local neighborhood Target. I have never had an issue here, or at any other Target, before yesterday. I am completely disgusted at the actions of the Manager. I honestly wonder if he was the manager because, as a business owner myself, I couldn't imagine speaking to someone in such a negative manner. I purposely seek out Target BEFORE I shop at ANY OTHER STORE; Target is my go-to store for everything and has been for many years. I have never been asked such ridiculous questions or been profiled before. I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to be profiled like that on a daily basis. Around the afternoon, I went to return some items I purchased in excess and/or items I didn't need/use. I did not have a receipt, but being a frequent shopper at Target I know the return policy; I can have the returned funds be transferred to a merchandise return card to spend in-store, similar to an in-store credit or swapping out items. I've never had an issue doing this prior. I waited patiently in line for my turn at the customer service counter. There was one associate helping the guest in front of me with her return; there were no other guests in line besides me. I had no problem waiting at all, it's common courtesy/practice every customer should follow. After standing in line for approximately one minute, a gentleman came over to me and told me to follow him and proceed to one of the check out lanes to complete my return. He began ringing up my items, paused and put a disgusted look on his face. He then proceeded to ask me if I had purchased these items at Target, which obviously I did (otherwise why would I bring them here to return?). Not only that, but Up&Up brand is Target. At this point I got a bad vibe from him and didn't understand what was going on. I returned: toothpaste, shoe spray, vitamins, shave gel, body wash and feminine products. Every time he scanned an item, a small receipt was printed (resulting in quite a few of them, not sure what they were). He then began to start murmuring conversation under his breath..."I'm the manager...never seen this", "we don't do this here", "these aren't from here", "ridiculous", "this is a scam, we know your kind", etc. the list goes on and on. In disbelief I continued to stand there silent. While shaking his head and causing a scene, He put the balance on a merchandise return card. I had my hand out to grab it from him, he purposely passed my hand and put it on the counter. He dramatically threw all the items into a bag, tossed the paper receipts into the bag and started to walk towards the customer service counter. Before walking off, I told him I purchased them at a different Target (not sure if it made a difference in inventory or not); he shook his head and said "whatever". I said "excuse me" and he completely ignored me and walked off to the CS counter. I stood at the checkout lane, watched him go over to the other associate at the service counter, threw the bag on the counter, turned around, pointed at me and referred to me as the "trashy scam lady with the tattoos" and continued to speak horribly about me. I have tattoos on my arms, not that it makes me a bad person or "trashy" whatsoever. I have never been spoken to or humiliated like this in ANY store. I immediately walked out of the store. This location has officially lost my business and corporate office has been notified and will be...
Read moreI was being followed by a man who I now assume is a manager. I started to have a panic attack because I am a single female and I had a man following me in the store so I started freaking out. I called my friend who was shopping separate from me because we were buying presents for each other. I asked her to meet me in the bathroom because I was scared she left her cart where she was and I left mine in guest services. I was freaking out because I thought he was trying to follow me out and hurt me but when we left the bathroom they were all at guest services. We asked if they thought we were stealing and they laughed but they had our carts and were staring at us like we were stealing as we were sorting through our stuff. The worst part is following a single female because I have ptsd already and it out me in distress I thought I was in danger. That’s just messed up and the workers denied thinking we were stealing even though it’s obvious that’s what they thought and threw acted like we were the bad guys when I felt in danger. You never know what someone has going on so if you have a female that is alone at the store, you should probably have another female do it at least even though there’s no reason to assume stealing. We just had a full cart and I guess he thought we didn’t have money because we are young, but we have plenty of money. And I didn’t wanna buy any of it because I felt insulted and just wanted to leave at that point especially since they didn’t even confront us and acted like it...
Read moreI went shopping to buy a bathing suit. About half of their product was on 50% off rack and some were still full priced. After an hour of trying on bathing suits, I found one that fit and that I liked. When I looked closely it had a pink stain on the upper left of the suit. This was the only one they had left. After all that work of trying things on, I thought perhaps I could live with the stain. I went to check out and realized it was full price. I asked the cashier if it was possible I could get a discount since it was flawed. "Yes I can give you 10%" I asked politely if the manager may be able to put this item on the 50% clearance due to the flaw. She called the manager and he came over. He needs more of a bedside manner with customers. He said "No I can only do 10% off" I pressed and said, well this will end up on the 50% rack in a couple of weeks because of this stain and I asked could he possibly give me 20% off. "No" he said " I can send that back and get full price for it. He wasn't very nice to me. So my question is, why is anything ever put on the 50% rack if "you can send it back and get full price for it." There is a reason I don't usually shop at target and this manager gave me a reminder why. Overpriced and not interested...
