Hello! On May 20th I was driving my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ on P ackerland Drive in Green Bay, Speed limit is 35 mph and iwas going slower because I noticed my steering was acting different. I had just come from our daughters house where we had taken off the shingles and I thought I had picked up a nail and my tire was going flat. so I pulled off in a side street to change the tire when I heard a "Whoosh" and the right front of my truck dropped and I had no steering ending up with me kissing the curb before I regained control. I got out to look and my right front rim was in two pieces.Say what? so I managed to change the tire with some work and went home. I immediately ordered a new rim off Amazon because now I needed a spare! I called Bergstrom of Neenah first thing the next morning because this happened on sunday evening. Eric from service said to bring it down so they could see it. so I did! Oh, Bergstrom was going to fix it and I should cancel the rim and it all was to be taken care of. I thought "Wow" now that is service! a couple hours after I get home the service manager calls and says Bergstrom is out of this and I have to call this number at GM. So i did and many calls later and after meeting with the tech of 28 years who admitted he had never seen this before, GM says that"it was conclusive and non disputable that I had hit a pot hole or chuck hole weeks or months prior PS they wouldn't let me select...
Read moreI had a vehicle repair problem that Bergstrom could have fixed in under 5 hours according to the service bulletin. Bergstrom refused to acknowledge that issue and instead said it would be an eight hour fix to charge me nearly $1,300. Other Chevy dealers had this repair marked at 4.7 hours and would finish the work for appx. $900. Bergstrom will never receive business from me again.
Bergstrom passed me from person to person even passing me to GM to, "get help" who had no idea why I was speaking with them because Bergstrom had all control. GM said they did not understand why I would be charged for so many hours of labor but that it was the dealers choice not theirs. Ultimately I was passed around again and finally ended up actually speaking with the customer excellence representative who pretty much told me he doesn't care and that I should go somewhere else. Not sure what type of training their customer excellence reps. go through, but he told me straight out he wouldn't do anything for me and didn't care what the hours say. That their pricing is fair because they would overcharge hours to anyone with this issue.
This was a wholly disappointing experience especially considering I have purchased two vehicles including this one from Bergstrom. Never again.
In reply to the response from owner:
Hello Berstrom Rep.,
If you had done what is fair and right, you would have considered the hourly rate which you refused to do. A mechanic went through the process with me, to go through the LH fender and remove the wheel to access the issue while it is up on the lift. Admittedly, he explained, the work would probably not take more than 3-4hrs unless there were some other issue, 5 hours at most but the system says 8 hours. And while he could finish the work in half the time the system estimates and although the TSB recommends 4.7 hrs of labor, Bergstrom's pricing model doesn't care. I would get charged 8 hours of labor regardless.
You did not do what was fair or right even after reviewing the specific tech. service bulletin from GM.
I will grant you were transparent in helping me understand the process for my repair and that it would not take as long as what your pricing model was going to charge me; however, you had no integrity in deciding to charge 8 hours anyway. If you had wished for a better outcome, you could have made it happen by charging me a more realistic amount of labor, you simply didn't. Now that I post something pointing this out you respond stating that somehow, you are fair and right.
Well you are right, it is a disappointing situation. For me but not for Bergstrom. I can honestly say after being passed around like I have been, and from the conversation with your customer excellence rep., and multiple care reps. with GM this is not disappointing to Berstrom. You just wanted an unfair amount of labor to cover my repair and if I was unwilling to pay, to shoo me away.
There was no other care or consideration given, if you want to start having some integrity in this situation, maybe try standing behind how you handled this instead of passing it off like you and I couldn't see eye to eye. We understood one another well enough. Bergstrom just did not care. That's all there is to it. So have some integrity and stand behind your decision to not have consideration for the real rate of labor behind my repair, even after I took the time to get quotes from other GM dealers.
Whatever you do, don't pretend that you wanted a different outcome. I feel insulted and betrayed...
Read moreWe went to bergstone to look at a 2005 buik lasabre. They said it was in great condition. Asked about underneeth they said it was clean. I had them hold it for a 500 dollar deposit. My family drove to look at this car 3 times. I asked for underbody pics they held off until the day before i went to go look at it and was planning to buy it. They took the underbody pic from the front drivers side to make the car look as good as possible and hide the actual rust hole "see pics of underbody from front, the one that does not show the hole and shows the entire underbody is the one brock took" I then went to go look at the car and found a massive hole in the fame. "See pics i took" they are overpricing this car at 6,900 and wont bring it down despite the car havign a hole in its frame and aldo having transmission issued when driving. And being overpriced way outside of the Kelly Blue Bool Value. I explained to the guy "brock" that iv seen other cars of this same year in better contition with only surface rust on it and they make the exuse of "well all 20 year old cars have rust" as this statment is true l, theres a difference between a car with little surface rust then a car that has legit rotted metal. Also doesnt exuse why they are overpricing this car way above its value while knowing these issues. dont buy any used cars from here. They are liers, the fact they were actualy gonna sell me that without telling me the issues especialy after asking them multiple times how the unnerbody is and at the price they were going to sell it to me for. Dont buy that 2005 lesabre. Its not worth 6,900. The fact this person was trying to sell us this and i was concidering buying it. Im glad i looked underneeth. BTW the person who worked on the car from the service department told us he would not buy this car. And also said to fix that hole in the frame that it would cost the same amount of money to fix it that we would be buying the car for. But he only said this because we had a specialist we know on speaker phone. They also refused to bump price down. They say this car is a needle in a hay stack. But look online there are other ones in WAY SAFER conditions for WAY cheeper prices. Look on facebook market place. Do not go here and do not...
