This facility is poorly managed and not focused on the kids
We’ve now completed two volleyball sessions at All Star Sports Center, and unfortunately, both have been marked by poor management and a lack of structure. In the first session, our team started with no coach assigned. We assumed it was a one time oversight. However, in the second session, while a coach was initially assigned, she was unable to continue, and the facility had no backup plan or replacement, leaving parents to step in and coach
To make matters worse, our scheduled practices were canceled without notice to accommodate a new volleyball camp. This was handled with no communication or consideration for the players or families who had already committed their time.
While the league fee is advertised as $125, families are also required to pay an additional $5 per practice, something that is not clearly disclosed during registration. These extra, unexpected costs add up quickly.
The overall environment is not much better. Officials and line judges often come across as unprofessional and immature, creating an atmosphere that’s more exclusive and uncomfortable than supportive or developmental.
It’s clear the focus is more on the business side than the quality of the experience or the growth of the athletes. I highly recommend that parents read the other negative reviews before enrolling, our experience was not unique, and the pattern of poor communication and lack of structure is consistent.
There are much better run programs out there that truly put kids and...
Read moreAwful. Disorganized, unprofessional, and not an environment that allows kids to develop their skill. After 3 seasons at All Star we will never step foot or give our money to this business again. After starting this volleyball season with no coach, we relied on parents to step up and help. The girls practices were not consistent- much like we experienced the previous season, the refs were awful, and unfair. They are not trained and do not know how to ref a game and consistently make calls that will speed the game up so they can leave, and upon expressing our concerns AS PAYING PARTONS, the owner was dismissive and arrogant and had the audacity to aggressively raise his voice- mind you, we are paying him for our child to play at his gym. It is obvious the only thing that matters is money, and your child will more than likely will be left without a coach or proper instruction for the season all while having to pay for a sub-par experience. I would not give this business any money or time, it's worth driving elsewhere if you want your child to experience what it's like to play for a real team and learn...
Read more5 Stars for All Star Sports Center in New Baltimore, MI! This facility is an absolute gem for kids and youth sports! We have experienced both the kids’ basketball and volleyball programs, and I can confidently say it’s the best place in the area. The little league basketball program is phenomenal—coaches focus on building skills and confidence in a fun, supportive, and safe environment. The volleyball league is just as impressive, teaching teamwork and technique while keeping it kid-friendly.
