Update: Reduced to one star. Mike tried to tell me that I brought in the driveshaft with damaged splines and he still refuses to replace the driveshaft that he ruined while doing the rebuild, as he told me he did the rebuild of the jetpump (I supplied new impeller & bearings: Yamaha rebuild kit 72-414). Anyone that knows anything about the driveshaft from a jetboat, knows that there would be no reason to rebuild the jetpump with a damaged driveshaft (splines). Therefore, he would not have accepted the rebuild job to begin with if my splines were damaged upon the start of the job. The splines were PERFECT when I dropped it off, and as you can see from the pics, the splines are now mushroomed and filed down, deeming the driveshaft useless in this condition.
Original post: Welp, not happy for now- we’ll see what they do to right the wrong. I wanted to rebuild my jetpump but didn’t want to ruin the driveshaft while removing the impeller. So I brought it in to have them rebuild it. I dropped off a perfectly good driveshaft with parts intact and the threads were precision smooth. I picked it up and the teeth on the driveshaft are smushed on two sides 🤢I’m sick to my stomach. Upon pick-up of the rebuilt jetpump, I was told that the splines had to be filed. I was caught a bit off guard but I accepted the part back thinking that it would still work. When I got home, the driveshaft would not go into the female end because the splines are so badly damaged on the driveshaft. The damage is on two sides of the splines, as if they were pinched in a vice. Now what? I have to wait until next week and try to get this resolved. Today is the Friday before memorial weekend and they closed early, 3 PM, so I’m stuck being full of...
