The Emporium — Local services in New Castle

Just by happenstance, I met the owner outside when he opened up the shop, and had the postcards I looked for. It was a fantastic shop, with many great Southern, Virginian, and other locally-made or themed items, a surprisingly large selection of books at great prices, and many food items like sarsaparilla, which I had been in search for over a year. This was magic for my mom. We were out riding the beautiful countryside in and around New Castle.

We saw some store fronts after missing a turn and I recommended riding down.

Not only does this store have a large of selection of many items, it's steeped in signifsnt history and stories.

Mom was looking for information on barn quilts which was quickly retrieved in a pamphlet.

I purchased several books for her recall as she is very interested in keeping up with the history of the surrounding area.

Great place with the old country store feel. Phil is extremely helpful, and always up for some fascinating conversation. If you're looking for organic ingredients, Phil probably has them, or will make sure he can get them for you. He is also an expert in natural remedies, he either has one already for sale in the store, or has all the ingredients and will be more than happy to tell you what to get and how to put them together.
