Airboat swamp tours — Local services in New Orleans

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. BOOK DIRECT AND SAVE YOUR MONEY $$$. I thought when I booked my trip, I was booking directly with the company. No, no, no, it’s not. I don’t know why there are so many positive reviews - maybe many of these reviewers were unsuspecting like me.

I called to book my reservation and thought the price per person was normal. I booked 8 people for a few dollars short of $700. I was a little confused when I got the link and it was a different company, but thought they operate under a different name. When I went to the actual tour company’s website, the cost per person was quite a bit cheaper (would have only costed $500 with tax and everything included) but again thought maybe there were some details I missed about our trip that justify the upcharge. Once our group got to the ACTUAL swamp tour place, I asked them about the difference in price. They told me that I had booked with BIG EASY SWAMP ADVENTURE - a third party company that does not provide any tours but only book them and charges whatever fee they want. Our actual tour company said they’ve gotten complaints about the price difference in the past and has “supposedly” talked to Big Easy Swamp Adventure before about their fees but to no avail. Unfortunately, since the actual tour company only got paid the posted cost per person for our tour, there was nothing they can do.

I will review the actual tour company separately as it is not even associated with this booking party but DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, RESEARCH AND MAKE SURE TO BOOK DIRECT (I thought I was booking direct too). Avoid my mistake and...

The airboat tour was good, but the problem is that the tour is actually operated by another local company. Big Easy Swamp Adventures is just a booking agency located far from New Orleans in New York and the problem is that communication with the actual tour operator is very poor. We booked an entire boat only to find out that our pre-paid boat left without us when we were just a few minutes late for the tour. We were told that they just picked someone else. This should not have happened as we pre-paid for the entire boat and the captain should have waited for us. The tour operator didn’t know the details simply because the booking company did not communicate them. We were offered a later tour in leu of the missed one, but it affected our schedule for the whole day. I recommend avoiding booking with this company and to book directly with the operator. This company is not what it represents and it is dishonest, unprofessional and unethical.

Wow, what an incredible airboat swamp tour adventure! Our captain was absolutely fantastic! Cal was not only knowledgeable but also so much fun and incredibly entertaining. He took the time to explain everything and answered all of our questions, making the experience truly unique and unforgettable. My entire family had an absolute blast and cherished every moment of our trip. We encountered numerous alligators 🐊 and other fascinating wildlife during our ride. This experience has become a treasured memory for us, and we would definitely do it again. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing and thrilling activity while traveling.
