Nola Nail Cafe — Local services in New Orleans

I absolutely loved this place. They were professional and very warm and welcoming. My nail tech was Brit, and she was such a delightful person. I had a lot of anxiety as I normally do when I go into nail salons or other kinds of salons. I always feel like people are judging me or don’t think I’m good enough to be there. Brit made me feel like I was part of the fam, and she did my nails EXACTLY how I wanted them.

I can’t wait to make this my home base and continue to share their awesome work here. They also have amenities like water, wine, and of course coffee! The other part I love is that it’s a black owned and operated salon so not only am I supporting a local business in my neighborhood, but I’m also supporting a black owned business that is inclusive and open to everyone especially having been marginalized and discriminated against severely in the salon sector.

I’ve seen some reviews about availability and wait times which I understand. But they are still growing and need our support. The more consistent clients they have the more they can expand and accommodate more people. So keep supporting...

The nail techs were friendly but that’s the only positive I experienced here, unfortunately. They don’t have a waiting room and they don’t take appointments on Fridays so, make sure you have a place to wait if you want to get your nails done at the end of the week.

Service: I got acrylics, I showed the manicurist the design I wanted and she assured me she could do it… the design I received was nothing like what I ask for and didn’t have the colors I wanted (basic primary colors). One of the nails ended up breaking two weeks later and after removing the nails completely I discovered that I had a nail infection.

Onto the pedicure, the person who gave me this service was clearly very new. I was burned once with the UV lamp and the pedicure was messy, the polish on was noticeably chunky. Upon removing that polish I realized that I also had another infection on one of my toes.

Based off of other reviews, it seems like there services aren’t always as bad as mine was but I will not be coming here again.

My mother and I arrived on Friday morning for a walk-In service. I waited 45 minutes before leaving because our tech did not arrive. My mother stayed and waited an hour for someone to start her service. It appears her tech never arrived and a tech who was already their started my mother’s service. This ruined the experience of mother daughter day. This was a very poor and disappointing experience. Time management and organization are very Important and it was not displayed on this day. There were no accommodations offered and full price of service was expected. A coupon, or discounted service for the next visit would have help with the major inconvenience.
