Plaza del Lago — Local services in New Trier Township

Ho, ho, ho (Santa... whattr you doin here?!? 🤣🤣). All jokes. Man, I love Plaza Del Lago! I think Plaza Del Lago (my young son calls it "Plala day lala" 😅) is in a great location, right next to the big ol' lake. It's great for summertime, but the grocery shopping at Jewel is timeless. Plaza Del Lago is great for anyone just needing to pick up something random, whether it be coffee (Starbucks), an Italian meal (Convito), or pharmaceuticals 🤣🤣 (CVS). However, I have noticed that the plaza has been going through some changes these past few years. I've only lived in the area since around 2015 (yeah, yeah, not a Wilmette native 🙃, don't sue me!!), but since then I have seen the taco place, Rosati's, Yellow Bird, the furniture store, and numerous other things close. Some of those places in the back just never got the attention compared to Starbucks and Jewel. To my knowledge, Plaza Del Lago is doing some remodeling in the area and giving it a little upgrade. What's Jospeh's take on this, ya might ask?? I'm all for it! Like I said before, this is in a great location. But heed my advice, and take it strongly (if ya trust a fellow local 🤣🤣): don't mess it up!! Plaza Del Lago has sooo much potential for some nice shops. Maybe a smoothie place! A nice sandwich shop! Bookstall perchance?? What I'm trying to say, is that Plaza Del Lago has a special place in my heart. I really hope this remodel is a good one. You got a lot to live up to! Hah!

Cute little Kenilworth Gold Coast shopping/dining mall. They have a few nice restaurants - one REALLY good one (Convito Cafe) - and a pretty good Jewel food store ... but the indoor arcade is what originally attracted my attention as my (hair cutting specialist - sorry Alijca!) barber is located in a great beauty salon inside.

The arcade itself is tragically under-occupied -- I would imagine not helped by Covid and the rent mania that has bloomed like bad algae as a result. A shame, and one that will hopefully be rectified when the madness ends. That editorial aside, Plaza del Lago is a cool little mall that deserves WAY more attention...

The plaza itself is nice as it's close to my sisters but the Phsrmacist at CVS is extremely rude and has very poor manners. I went to fill some emergency prescriptions and when I questioned why one was so high for a partial fill he made an extremely rude and unprofessional comment to the girl that rang me up loud enough that I heard him. When I brought this to his attention he was completely unapologetic and rude acting as though he had done nothing wrong. I know it won't make a difference but I will never shop there again as I did nothing to deserve his unprofessional behavior and that out weighs the convenience...
