I recently had the privilege of undertaking a medical elective at Brooklyn USCE under Dr Khillan, and I must say that the experience was truly exceptional. As a medical graduate seeking to expand my horizons and gain practical knowledge, this program provided me with invaluable opportunities that surpassed my expectations.
First and foremost, the organization and coordination of the elective program were superb. From the moment I reached out to inquire about the program, the staff at Brooklyn USCE were responsive, friendly, and professional. They guided me through the application process, providing detailed information about the available specialties, duration of electives, and associated costs. Their transparency and prompt communication instilled a sense of trust and reliability right from the start.
Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed and introduced to the dedicated team. The mentors and supervisors at Brooklyn USCE were highly knowledgeable and skilled professionals who were passionate about teaching and mentoring aspiring medical professionals. Their expertise in their respective fields was evident, and they were always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I gained hands-on experience and received comprehensive guidance.
The clinical rotations was nothing short of remarkable. I had the opportunity to observe and actively participate in consultations, and patient care activities. The exposure to real-life medical scenarios, along with the guidance and supervision of experienced physicians, significantly enhanced my clinical skills and decision-making abilities. The hands-on approach fostered a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of practicing medicine in a fast-paced and diverse healthcare environment.
Additionally, the cultural immersion aspect of the program added immense value to my overall experience. Being able to interact with patients from different backgrounds and witness the delivery of healthcare in a multicultural setting provided me with a broader perspective on healthcare disparities and the importance of culturally competent care.
In conclusion, my time at Brooklyn USCE was truly transformative. The program exceeded my expectations in terms of educational value, mentorship, and cultural immersion. I wholeheartedly recommend Brooklyn USCE to any medical graduate seeking a comprehensive and enriching medical elective experience. The knowledge, skills, and professional connections I gained during my time there will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on my...
Read moreIt's a long review, but stay with me because I have a lot to say. My rotation at Brooklyn USCE was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in my medical journey. I did a rotation at Brooklyn Cancer Care. Dr Khillan is an amazing mentor — he’s patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about teaching. You learn so much from him, not just about medicine and how the U.S. healthcare system really works, but also about how to navigate different phases of life as a doctor in the US - something you can only learn from someone who's been through the journey and is open to sharing their trials and tribulations honestly.
The staff is extremely fun to work with and always willing to help. What I loved most was that you’re actually given real responsibilities — you’re not just shadowing. You get to talk to patients, write notes in the EMR, place lab orders, handle referrals and follow up with the patients through their care. It makes you feel like an important part of the team and really builds your confidence as a future resident.
I also made some amazing friends and got invaluable advice from people working with Brooklyn USCE. It truly becomes your own little USMLE community, one that you can always reach out to for support or guidance even after your rotation ends.
I’m really grateful for my time at Brooklyn USCE and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hands-on, supportive, and rewarding clinical...
Read moreI got the opportunity to rotate in Haem-Oncology at Brooklyn Cancer Care with Dr. Khillan and Dr. Preet and it was a great experience! Dr. Khillan and everyone at the clinic are very warm and welcoming. There was a lot of learning, motivation, and guidance in this rotation. We are allowed to take a history, follow up on labs and have EMR access under guidance which makes the clinical experience great. Then there is also Didactics -presentations that took place every day after clinic hours which helped me master so many topics in Oncology both by listening and while making my presentations. Oncology is vast but this method made it so much easier to learn new things and integrate our learning with direct patient care. I had the best time in Brooklyn Cancer Care and made some friends for life. The Brooklyn USCE team was also always there to attend to all my doubts and queries I would recommend...
