Iâve been to this medspa twice now, and both visits were disappointing for different reasons. I purchased a package for 2 microderms and IPL sessions after researching local medspas with seemingly good reviews. However, based on my experience, I suspect many of their reviews are incentivized through a $50-off promotion rather than reflecting the quality of their services.
On my first visit, things started off okay. After my microderm, I declined numbing cream since I havenât needed it for IPLs in the past, but the aesthetician insisted that adding it would allow them to turn the machine higher for better results. I agreed and continued with the procedure. After the IPL, the tech recommended I purchase AQ Active Serum that she can apply immediately afterward for better results, which I purchased. However, when I checked my email receipt after leaving, I noticed I had been overcharged for treatments I didnât receive. They also performed a chest microderm without asking if I wanted it before proceeding, but since I did receive that service it was less of a concern.
Addressing the billing error required both an email and a phone call. The manager was unprofessional and unwilling to admit the mistake, but they eventually credited my account for the services I didnât receive for next time.
I didnât see significant results from my first treatment and was hopeful the next would be better. However, the issues escalated.
On the day of my appointment, the rude receptionist called at 9:15am to move my appointment from 3:15pm to 11:00am to fill gaps in their schedule. While she didnât make it seem like an option, I declined, as Iâd intentionally booked a specific time. Itâs not the clientâs job to rearrange their day for the spaâs convenience.
When I arrived, the first esthetician seemed more focused on upselling products and procedures than the last, but ironically, she mentioned that numbing cream isnât necessary for IPL and can actually reduce results because it acts as a barrierâcontradicting what the first esthetician had told me. Great.
I then waited 45 minutes in the treatment room without any explanation. During that time, I overheard staff loudly gossiping about coworkers, cussing and doing anything but treating patients. When the treatment finally began, I was told my appointment had been updated to include numbing cream (which I never requested), and thatâs why there was a delay. This lack of communication was incredibly disrespectful of my time.
I mentioned that I wasnât seeing the usual browning or improvement Iâd experienced with IPLs in the past. The esthetician suggested that the active serum she sold me during my first visit might have âovercorrectedâ the browning. Confused, I later Googled it and discovered that AQ Active Serum, or any serum with actives, arenât recommended until 7â10 days after IPLânot immediately after, as they advised and applied for me. Great a waste of a $165 serum on top of 2 services!
Overall, this medspa needs significant improvement in communication, professionalism, and expertise. Theres a lot of great medspas in Newport Beach, I suggest taking your money to...
Read moreIâm a satisfied repeat client. Iâve had Botox and fillers. On my last visit I had just a small amount of fillers. I saw the results immediately, and told him other areas Iâd like to have done. This is a big reason I will only go to Med Spa. They are honest, and tell you if they think you wonât be happy with the results. My nurse felt to use the amount of fillers to get the result I wanted, it wouldnât look natural. He suggested a procedure called UlTherapy It is a totally non invasive procedure with no down time. What it does is it stimulates the production of collagen. Unlike fillers, you donât have immediate results. It takes time for your body to start producing more collagen. I was told to expect a month before seeing any results, but it continues to work, and while everyone is different, the results will be quite noticeable in 3 months.
This procedure tightens and lifts the entire face.
Instead of selling me expensive fillers, we will wait 3 months, and then touch up with fillers as needed.
I will post the results in 3 months.
I believe the owner to be very selective of who she hires, because everyone there is top notch.
While not being a non profit organization, it is clear that their priority is making the client happy, not how much they can sell you.
Thatâs what sets them apart from other Spas, and Drâs offices, that try to convince you that you wonât be happy unless you do everything they suggest.
I canât say that there wasnât some discomfort, but they do everything to make it as comfortable as possible Unlike other spas that just use numbing cream, you have the option of taking pain medication, or nitrous oxide I took both, and it wasnât bad at all. Most spas only offer numbing cream.
Hope you have as good of an...
Read moreThe most unprofessional, ghetto med spa experience of my life and a very obvious cash grab.
Beyond the fact that they botched my friendâs lips, they make you pay BEFORE your service. That is INSANE and pretty offensive to be honest. Imagine if a restaurant did this. Or a tattoo shop. Or really any place where you are provided a service. I should have left then and I regret not doing so. To be clear I am not talking about a booking fee or deposit for any appointment, which is reasonable as everyoneâs time is important.
I brought my friend here from out of town ignorantly assuming a place in Newport HAD to be good. They also present themselves very well on social mediaâ again, I have learned a lot from this experience. She paid for a syringe of filler BEFORE her service and then once in the room and they were finished with the first syringe she decided to agree to a (recommended) second. They brought a mobile card reader into the room to charge her A SECOND TIME. So my friend swiped her card TWICE before she even received the treatment. ALSO, i have since learned no reputable med spa would EVER put 2 syringes of filler into the LIPS at once. We thought they looked terrible from swelling, but after a few weeks she looked absolutely botched and had to go elsewhere to get it fixed.
I have since fallen in love with N2 Aesthetics and recommend anyone reading this to go there instead. They made sure I was satisfied and I checked out at the front desk AFTERWARDS like a respectable establishment. Iâve also learned that if the people who work at an establishment look botched just use your gut and leave. I thought everyone looked absolutely insane and overdone but I didnât want to be...
