Iâve needed a car to and from work and school for a while because not only was I tired of asking for a ride from my friends and family but they were also getting tired of me. I had actually discussed the issue of purchasing a car with my dad and he had been shopping for a car for quite a few months on my behalf but assuming that he wasnât going fast enough, I decided to go alone. Mark you, Iâve no previous experience in buying a car and could better be described as being blind or illiterate as far as purchasing a car is concerned.
In desperation, and through the recommendation of a roommate and friend, I went to Chrysler of Nicholasville and approached a Salesman by the name of Jerome whom my friend had directed me to. After answering a few questions Jerome had posed to me, he showed me three used cars from which I selected one after a very short drive, without an inspection by a neutral technician. Note that since this was a used car, I was buying it âas it isâ with no warranty, as I later on found out. Although Jerome tried to suggest to me to let his dealership conduct the essential services performed on all used cars that they have acquired before I drive it away, I was inpatient and insisted on driving the car away in the excitement of finally owning a car. Almost immediately, I found out that the car had a few mechanical problems and even though this dealership would have had no obligation for the repairs, since I had purchased it âas isâ, they were willing to accommodate me in conducting the repairs at no extra cost to me.
After over a week when reality sunk in with my purchase, I mustered the courage to inform my father who realized on further investigation that not only had I straddled myself with the type of car I had purchased but that I was going to finance a used car for over six years. My father immediately took me back to the dealership for any help they could give me. Again since I am unfamiliar with purchasing a car, I didnât realize that this was going to be an uphill battle in trying to undo what I had gotten myself into. Iâll therefore now defer to my dad, to give you my readers, the rest of the details, since he, better than I, understands the enormous help not only the Sales, Financial and Management Departments, but also the Ownership, rendered to us, so as to rescue and accommodate me. With my dadâs input, they were able to determine a more suitable car for me and immediately showed us an array of cars that were more financially and mechanically suitable to my needs. Would you believe the car my dad helped me select was not only newer, cheaper and more affordable over a much shorter financing period, but they even let me drive that car home that same night and was allowed to keep it until I had the time to come back at my convenience to complete the rest of...
Read morethe sales person got in my face and followed me When I got to the dealership I looked at a few cars, larger SUV size, no one came out which was perfectly fine it was nice not being chased down. When I got inside it took a minute before I could get someone to help me and then they sent me to some dude in the corner, he was bald, ear pods in and I even think had glasses. This guy already didnât care to make eye contact with me or ask anything he just said âwhat do you needâ I asked âIâm looking for a SUV, do yall have any promotions and or what kind of incentives do yall have going onâ his answer was âyea everything doesâ and leaves it at that it was pulling teeth to get anything out of him I started listing âok is there anything on the durangos or that Cx9 outside, we travel every 3 months and need a SUV so please kinda let me know what you think the best option is for my situation he goes âyea they are all different, this Durango has some invectivesâ while heâs looking at his computer, this dude did not once look at me didnât tell me what year of Durango price nothing at all I had no clue what was going on. Mind you I have a paid off BMW to trade in on top of cash. I went over to the guys standing behind the glass and told them âlisten Iâm trying to trade in a paid of car and I have money to put on top of it and this guy is no help at all he wonât look at me, help, or answer all my questions.â After saying this and trying to leave the sales guy starts causing a scene in the middle of the dealer ship âHOW DID I NOT HELP YOU WHAT DID I NOT ANSWERâ and starts getting closer to me as Iâm at the door I turn around and tell him âI donât know what your problem is right now but youâve been very rude, you wonât even look at me, barley answer any question,â he then keeps step closing to me repeating âWHAT DID I NOT ANSWER HUH? TELL MEâ while heâs yelling this I am still in the door trying to leave and he keeps stepping closer to my face this guy literally keeps trying to get closer and closer to me and Iâm not even yelling at this sales guy or ever yelled. I hope this dealership does something about this sales guy heâs not a safe person for people to work with or...
Read moreI wish there was an option to not even give a star. Anyway, I have been shopping around for another vehicle with less miles than my current vehicle. Now I shop around for good deals and because I have bad credit and I was looking for something specific. I finally found what I was looking for on this companies website and gave them a call. Since I do have bad credit I wanted a guarantee of approval before driving 2 hours out of my way to look at a car that I might love, so I asked for a financing approval first. I gave this sales woman my information, SS#, all my information, and a copy of my pay check stubs and also told her exactly what I was looking for. I told her that it had to be an SUV with 4 wheel drive and third row seats. She sent a text message saying that her finance manager approved my application and that everything was good to go, all I had to do was come down and test drive the truck and bring proof of income, residency, etc. I did just that. After waiting for an hour or more for her to come back out with what my spending limit was because you know I was 'pre-approved', she came out and said we got you approved for one vehicle and that she would go get it. So now after all of this waiting and chasing a 4 year old around the building she brings up a 2 wheel drive, tiny SUV/car, that doesn't have a 3rd row seat. By this point and time I am very upset, but because she walked in the rain to get it and it had low miles I decided to test drive it. During the test drive it made noises in the front end and sounded like the tires were warped. I came back to the dealership and sat and waited patiently for the finance manager because I wanted to tell them how much of a waste this was. I told him exactly that and how disappointed that I was. I still have the messages from this sales person and quite frankly want my gas money back for driving my SUV down that they were supposed to take in on trade after I sent them pictures(by the way, they never even looked at it), my 2 hours of time there and back, and an apology from this crooked ass office. I will be contacting the BBB also if this is...
