If youâre searching for the best Louisiana home cooking, look no further than Taste of Port City. This hidden gem is a true testament to the rich flavors and culinary heritage of Louisiana. Every dish I tried was a masterpiece, and Iâm officially hooked.
The gumbo was perfection in a bowlârich, savory, and brimming with fresh seafood and smoky andouille sausage. The flavors were perfectly balanced.
The stuffed shrimp were out of this world! Plump, juicy shrimp packed with a perfectly seasoned stuffing that was both crispy and tender. It was a burst of flavor with every bite.
The Creole hush puppies deserve a spotlight of their own. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, with just the right amount of Creole spice. Paired with their house-made tartar sauce, which was tangy and creamy with a zesty kick, it was a match made in heaven.
Finally, the seafood pasta was an indulgent dream. It just screamed Louisiana comfort.
This is, hands down, the best Louisiana food Iâve ever eaten. Every dish was a 10/10, and I will always come back for more. Taste of Port Cityâitâs a destination for anyone who loves authentic Louisiana cuisine....

I was bothered by that because the price increase wasn't communicated to me when I made my query; it was only after she had put the food in separate containers and I was handing her my card that I was hastily informed of the increase. She stated that is was due to her putting more beans in the container than she would have normally done if the dish was served together. Once again, I would have appreciated being politely informed beforehand that my request would cause an increase in the advertised price. My quest to support small business ended in a negative...
Read moreI was so excited to try Taste of Port City because I love Cajun Creole food. Let me tell you it did not disappoint, I can't wait to go back and try some other stuff. I had the Sampler Tray with the staples Jambalaya, Gumbo, and my favorite Crawfish ĂtouffĂŠe. My son had the Shrimp Po'Boy, he is 6 and he crushed it, he even ate the lettuce and tomato because the sauce was so good. We will definitely be back and think everyone needs to try this place out. I wish the owner the best and hope to see her in a more permanent establishment in the future because her food needs to be experienced...
