Brought laptop computer in for replacement charging cord, the end was damaged. Was told it also needed a new charging port, ? Ok. Agreed to those repairs. When got laptop back battery not holding a charge at all. When I took it in it was charging for 4 hours or so before needing to be charged again. Also preferences changed. When I called to discuss it she said they drained the battery to see if it was working and kept talking over me when I would try to say something. Obviously it wasnt working because it needed to be charged. It is an 18 mos. old computer but she tried to tell me the compurer was 3 to 4 years old, which she knew wasnt true as we had previously discussed it and she said it had all kinds of problems. She had said in a previous conversation they tweaked this and that and "cleaned it up" which I did not ask for or agree to. When I took it in it was working great and now its not at all. I kept trying to discuss the battery issue and she just kept giving me the run around, changing the subject to avoid responsibility. I like to support small bussinesses but in this case I wish I went...
Read more|A+| SOLVED ALL PROBLEMS RELATED TO LAPTOP PURCHASE I bought a used recertified laptop from D Miller Associates a couple months ago. After about 60 days of light use, the left screen hinge began to separate from the laptop. We brought it in and after they took it apart, they declared that it was not worth fixing. (In the end, although the shop had purchased it as a recertified product, it appears there was damage to the internal framing.)
I worried at this point because they repeatedly insisted that there was accidental damage, which there was not. (Although this rubbed me a little, it does not pay to be too sensitive nowadays.)
In the end, they provided a full refund for the faulty laptop in the form of a credit towards a new, unused laptop. I gave them the model number of a computer that I thoroughly researched online (budget rocket Acer 5), and they ordered the exact one that I wanted. The new laptop will be a substantial step up, and it was in unused condition, so I was happy to pay the difference (it cost about double, which is a reasonable...
Read moreWent to them for years no issues. One day I needed a charging port soldered onto my laptop’s motherboard - I ordered the part myself and brought it in. I was quoted $150 - seems pricey but I won’t argue. I told them I needed the laptop back soon as I would be missing assignments for school in just a couple days. I waited for a call that I never received. I walked in 5 days later, no one greeted me at the desk, I waited for about 10 minutes eventually gave up and walked out. The next day I tried again, they were at the desk this time. I ask to get my laptop back, and they said they could do my repair sooner because I was there asking, they said they could have it done in three more days. No I asked to get it back. They said they would charge me $50 to get it back and said they were likely the only option to get it done by Monday. I asked again for my laptop back, they charged me $50 for holding it hostage and I went to another shop that had it done same...
