Big Y — Local services in North Branford

Yesterday my Daughter and I went to Big Y for the 1st time and it was a big store there electric cart was kind of a disappointment it didn't stay full battery for very long I have a bad back and I cant stand or walk for very long and it died right outside the store I had to walk with the help of my daughter and a shopping cart to our car im the handicapped parking it wasn't that easy either someone parked in the blue handicapped lines for the vans to park next to its not a parking spot but they parked there anyways. I had to go around to get across to my car it wasn't easy to do. The store was big has a wide variety of things and foods deserts needs as well as other things hot foods etc. It was a refreshing change from always shopping at Walmart they don't have alot to offer to shop in that store. Our cake was not as ordered. When we got home to celebrate our occasion we noticed cake was dried up and stale and not only not as ordered but the frosting was hard and crumbled into pieces. I called and asked to speak with bakery manager was told not available so I asked to speak to store manager. I spoke with a women claiming to be store manager. She had horrible attitude and actually started to argue with me. Really big y. You give us wrong cake and it's stale and and hard and your employee who claimed to be manager tried to tell me I had to wait for a refund. Only after going back and forth did she agree to give us refund. At that point I decided it wasn't worth it so we threw out cake and bye bye big y after countless cakes ordered from you you will never receive our families business again. I have been a faithful customer of Big Y for 25 years, driving farther to shop there because I wanted to support a American owned business that sells local produce. This is no longer the case. I had my mirror scratched by a store employee moving carts last weekend. The store employees were nice, but the manager who called to respond to me was condescending and rude. He said someone else had a similar problem and told him it was no big deal because he already had 55 scratches on his car. He said I had until Thursday to call him back with how I wanted to pursue this. I am not calling back I am not going to have someone talk to me like I am in the wrong.
