I came in to get cash back so I could use the laundromat, that’s it. The cashier was very rude, didn’t speak when I came up and when I just bought a small item responded “How much you tryna get cash back”, I told her $15 and she didn’t say anything. She said have a good day, I said thank you. And when I walked out I dropped the 10, she picked it up for me and I said thank you. It looked like the manager on duty at the time and another lady proceeded to mumble about me before I even got out the store. I thought they said “She didn’t even say thank you”, but they claim they didn’t, I don’t know but they continually kept walking away from me when I asked what was said. It’s early in the morning, I had a few things happen to me prior to so I just wanted to get the cash and wash my clothes. But they were very rude, which is unfortunate because this is my neighborhood Food Lion, where I always shop and come and try to be a respectful consumer but today I felt very unwelcome mf, and I truly didn’t do anything unruly or rude for me to be talked about and side-eyed. Your employees should treat everyone with compassion because you never know what people are...
Read moreGreat prices, quality food, nice employees! Food Lion is one of my favorite grocery chains because they tend to focus their brand on making healthful, fresh and nutritious food affordable. They also often are the grocery store that borders the food deserts in my community. Their meat department also offers the same quality at MUCH lower prices and their markdowns boast unbelievable deals if you catch them. While many other grocery chains seem obsessed with opening bigger stores with high end items that are overpriced. The offered item selections are so vast the clearance section is huge, and they don’t sell enough of any one item to offer lower regular prices. They claim to offer healthful options, but their prices prices habit most regular income folks from buying any of it. They boast huge super couponing friendly sales and weekly specials to get shopper’s attention. Mostly the sale items are things I don’t need like, unhealthy processed foods, and instant options full of preservatives. All of it is wastefully packaged and wastefully promoted. Hooray for thee grassroots ooots ideas like eating fresh and cooking presented in their...
Read moreI'm not expecting great customer service from this place. But my last experience was incredibly bad. While I was checking out the manager, Charlene S., was discussing with the young man checking me out all the places they have had...uh, relations. Charlene apparently was quite proud of having relations in a cemetery while the guy was describing his transgressions while in a high school classroom!
You can’t make this stuff up.
During their heated talk my groceries were thrown into a bag carelessly. Including my bottle of wine which I wasn't carded for. I'm not saying I look under 21 at all but he didn't even ask my birthday. SLED would have a field day with this kid.
This store has always had bad customer service, questionable 'fresh' meats, and overpriced produce. I only stop there because of it's location and an oddly large selection of sauces and spices.
However, this last one was a doozy. How much more unprofessional can you get?!
