April 2025 - To resolve a longstanding kitchen drain clogging problem. Heritage plumber, Isles Maskell, with his apprentice quoted a Kitchen Drain rework and Garbage Disposal installation 3 ways. We agreed to middle quote would serve us best, so went forward. Decided on using Isles as he was very knowledgeable, seemed sincere, loved his profession and demonstrated pride in saying so. Isle showed up on a Monday morning as expected (Apprentice was out sick), got right to work. Did a beautiful job in reworking the needed drain plumbing and installed the Disposal without issue. Very efficient, took no time at all. Upon our final inspection, we noted the Kitchen pull out faucet might catch underneath, so, literally within minute or two he resolved the issue, reworking the water feed lines. When complete, cleaned up everything as if he was never there. What we really noticed was how enthusiast Isles was (quietly whistled the whole time) about the performed work, and appropriately proud of the result. Would love to use him for any future plumbing diagnostics, installation or repairs. Too bad his apprentice was out sick as an opportunity was missed to work with a "real" plumber. So far, Heritage Home Services of North Hampton has been top shelf!
June 2023 - Contacted Heritage to diagnose a problem with my whole house upright dehumidifier. Even though they were not completely familiar with my model, they did an outstanding job of determining the problem, well within the first hour and estimated price. They also provided me with the documentation necessary to go back to the manufacturer and resolve the issue thru warranty. As a result, even though the dehumidifier was past warranty, the manufacturer offered to repair/replace the unit at no cost to me. Without Heritage providing articulate diagnostic documentation, I do not believe that would have happened. The technicians were exceptionally competent and professional. Cost was very fair and reasonable. I would recommend Heritage to anyone with a Dehumidifier problem, and I expect their otter services would be...
Read moreHeritage replaced my water heater in February 2025. In June 2025, a technician from a different company came to assess the HVAC system and found three gas leaks in the water heater pipes, the joints of which hadn't even been tightened. Also, a total of $464 for a standing inspection and a permit fee was added to my bill from Heritage, and after a call to Heritage, the technician told me that sometimes it takes months for an inspection but that he would let me know when it would happen. That was five months ago, so I called again and the person said he was going to get in touch with the inspector. I asked if the inspector had been called by Heritage back in February and he said he would have to check. My guess is no. An inspection would have found the three gas leaks. My condo could have exploded along with others as well.
Back to June 2025. Heritage assessed the problem with the above-mentioned HVAC system during the heatwave. A technician came out and told me my compressor needed a fan, and that he would have a new one in a couple of days. After calling Heritage three times, I discovered that technician "left the company" a day after his visit with me and Heritage hadn't told me until my third phone call, so I was waiting in a 90-degree F condo for a fan that hadn't been ordered by a man who no longer worked there.
A second technician from Heritage came to my home and told me the air handler in the attic was broken. I don't have an air handler in the attic. He then quoted me an exorbitant amount for a new AC unit that included a gas furnace, which I hadn't ordered. When I brought it to Heritage's attention, I was told they would send me a "corrected" estimate. I think they were hoping I wouldn't notice.
The result of all of this is that I haven't had AC in my home for almost a month during one of the hottest periods in a very long time. I hired a different company who gave me an estimate for almost half the amount of the least expensive one I got from Heritage. It's a one-day job scheduled for the day...
Read moreHeritage has done the best service work I have requested on our house out of all work we have had done in 2 years since we bought our house. Our old New Hampshire home was in dire need of a ductwork cleaning. After shopping around at some of the most reputable vendors, heritage offered the best price and had a very informative over the phone quote compared to the rest . Upon arrival on the scheduled date for service they were very friendly and had plenty of equipment ready at hand. I will admit that they were somewhat blindsided from the design of the ductwork in our home. It was nothing unfamiliar to them but they needed to change their game plan on site. They started the job and finished it still in less than the scheduled time with three employees. They took before and after photos of most of the work and shared it via email with the invoice. I spent the extra money to get the sanitization fogger and I highly recommend that. My filthy ducts were finally clean and sanitized and our home smelled astronomically more fresh. Here is a quick rundown of the work they did. They walk through the house with the owner and find all of the vents. They figure out which ones are supplies and which ones are returns. They cut holes in the existing ductwork large enough to attach a heavy duty HEPA vacuum outside the furnace. This creates negative pressure to guarantee dust does not escape into the home. They will carry a long air compression hose as their primary tool for cleaning. It is a delicate air compressor brush thing with tentacles that knocks around all of the loose dust for the hepavac to suck up. Before disconnecting the HEPAVAC from the branch they sanitize fogged each supply. They patch and aluminum tape every hole they make and I have not seen any issues with draft or leakage from the duct since they have left. They even replaced and dated the filter as well as taped up some drafting spots from my furnace. 10 out of 10 would get them again. Elton, John and Mac...
